God is mindful of us and our situations. No matter how alone we feel, He is always there.
We have seen this in our lives over and over again. The latest one is, Ted got a call from his old HSE consulting job, and they need him to start in about a month. Excited, he's trying to figure out how to tell his current employer about his new position. He goes into work to tell them on Monday, and they call him into their office to tell him he's been laid off, but will still get a month's severance pay, which will cover up until his next job starts. So, not only is this a huge blessing to our family, but we look back and see how the Lord's timing is perfect. When Ted's work slowed down so much in February, and they didn't need him as a consultant anymore, he was able to get a job that picked up the week right after he was done with work. And that job lasted the exact amount of time we needed before his other job picked back up. Huge blessings!
We know that these blessings don't always happen this way, or to everyone, so we're just thanking Heavenly Father so much for letting it work out the way it has. We feel extremely blessed to live here in North Dakota. We truly love everything about it here. The people are what seal the deal though. They are kind, generous, and friendly. We will go wherever the Lord asks us to go. And we sure hope that He wants us to stay here for a while, if not forever. You know how you feel at peace when something is right? Or when you're in the right place? That's how we feel. Peace. We are so thankful for that peace, and the opportunity we have to live in a place where we are surrounded by opportunities to share the gospel and make friends with incredible people.
Ted once told me that there are good people everywhere. And that the good outnumber the bad. That advice and counsel has helped me to conquer my fear of change and moving to new places. Especially since I am more of a routine and comfort in my own place person. Ted has shown me that an adventure is sometimes the best thing for me. And I thank my lucky stars that I'm married to such a patient, loving man, that gently guides me through life. Heavenly Father blessed me beyond measure when he brought my big, smiley, future husband into my life. I didn't know then how much love a person could have towards another. But I know now. And I am so grateful for him.
