Happy Halloween

Halloween is a much more fun holiday when kids are involved! Smile As shown in the pictures below…

Tucker and Bailey

We had fun making cupcakes for our neighbors this afternoon!

Last night we enjoyed carving pumpkins with the kids. Well, David and I carved, Tucker designed the faces of his, mine and Baileys, and Bailey enjoyed munching on her pumpkin top. Silly kids! Smile

Pumpkin Patch Field Trip

Tucker had his 2nd day of pre-school today. He was SO excited to get to go back. After being sick last week and stuck inside so much, I think he was just REALLY excited to get to spend time with someone other than Mommy and Daddy. Either that, or it was the fact that we got him all pumped to go to the Pumpkin Patch with his class today, and he would get to ride on a school bus! They didn’t need any parents to volunteer, but they said we could meet them at the patch if we wanted to. So, my friend Brittany and I headed over with our two smaller ones, and met the class there. I loved seeing Tucker get off of the bus, he looked like such a big boy. I am realizing that my little boy is growing up. I never really thought I would have a really hard time with it, but it is definitely harder than I anticipated. I just hope that I am continually doing all that I can to raise him to be the young man that I know that he can be. I sure do love my little Bubba!

Bailey loved being there. So much so, that I had a hard time getting her to sit still long enough for a picture. So this is the best I could get. IMG_0449

We have been hit…

…And hit hard!

Monday morning at 4:00, I woke up to Tucker calling for me desperately. I jumped out of the bed and ran into his room and found him laying in a pool of vomit. Poor kid was so distressed. So he took a bath, I cleaned it all up, and laid him back down. 30 minutes later he was throwing up again. This carried on all day Monday. I had never done so much laundry in my life. By Monday afternoon he was doing better and Monday night he seemed closer to normal. So, Tuesday he woke up and was back to his normal self so I let him go to preschool. When we got home from preschool and running some errands, Tucker got hit again and puked in the garage. Sad smile So we set him up on his bed again, and had a relaxing afternoon. Tuesday night he was doing much better again…until bed time. At 10:30 he woke up calling out for me again and had puked again. So I went to the store and got some pedialite for our relaxing Wednesday. Then we all went to bed, and at 4:00 Wednesday morning, Bailey wakes up screaming. I went into get her and she was now laying in a pool of vomit. The bug had hit Bailey. Poor Baby. She was throwing up a bunch in the morning. Tucker was still throwing up some too. So fortunately, David was able to stay home from work that day to help me. SO glad he did because there sure were times when both of the kids were barfing at the same time. I don’t know what I would have done. So grateful for David’s flexible job. We took both of the kids to the Dr. Wednesday afternoon and he gave them some anti nausea medicine. That seemed to help a lot. We all went to bed Wednesday night thinking that this gross had left us…not so much. Thursday morning David woke up and was sick to his stomach all day. So, he worked from home (our bed) and I took care of the kids. Thursday night I went to Bunco because I needed a break…BAD! Half way through Bunco my tummy started to ache. I thought it was due to all of the pineapple I had eaten. Well, at 11:15 that night, whatever it was, it wasn’t in my tummy anymore. I threw everything up. Then again at 1:15 and another at 5:30. Then David and I remembered that I have anti nausea medicine from after I was in the hospital. So we dug that out and it made a HUGE difference. So I have spent all day in bed, and David was able to take care of the kids. I am feeling better tonight, and with a good nights rest, I think I will be up for the OSU football game tomorrow evening. Smile

Let’s hope this is the last we see of the stomach flu for awhile.

First Day of Pre-School

Our Big Boy started Pre-School today! We got all ready last night, set out his clothes down to his underwear, and made sure that all of our paperwork was filled out. We weren’t sure that Tucker was going to make it to pre-school this morning because he was throwing up all day yesterday. But, fortunately, he woke up and felt good. At his request he had a waffle for breakfast. Then he got all ready for school. He looked so handsome when he was all ready to go…

Our little Bubba all dressed and ready to go! Smile

Tucker wrote his own name, and I helped him write his ageIMG_0374

We were running a little late this morning, and when I went to drop him off, he was a little nervous, but happy to be there. Once he saw all of his friends he was all ready to let me leave and be his own person. I was proud and sad all at the same time. Smile

When Bailey and I went back to pick him up, he was all smiles. We got there a little early and had fun watching the class finish their activities. They were singing songs and having a great time. IMG_0379IMG_0381

When the kids are dismissed they sang the Jack be Nimble Jack be Quick riddle, and replace Jack with each students name. So I got a quick video of Tucker Jumping over the Candlestick…

Family Vacation–Part 2

We left LA on Monday, the 24th, and headed to my brothers house in Vegas. David had meetings for work scheduled Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday so the kids and I were going to hang out with my sister-in-law.

We got to my brothers house around 4:00. We were so excited to see everyone. The last time we saw them was at my Grandma’s funeral last September. Bailey was only 6-weeks old then, so they were pretty much meeting a brand new Bailey. It was so much fun. We just hung out at the house Monday night and Tucker had fun getting to know his cousins.

Tuesday, David headed out to his meetings at the Golden Nugget. The kids and I spent the day with Rachel. We went and met Dave for lunch at Chevy’s, and then got some groceries at Costco. We had quite the adventure at Costco when we tried to start the car to head home and Rachel’s battery was dead. Fortunately Dave doesn’t work too far from there so he was able to come and save the day. Tuesday evening Tucker got to stay at the house and hang out with his cousins, and David and I took Bailey to my brother Dave’s softball game. It was fun to watch him play, it has been so long since I have seen any of my brothers play softball.

Wednesday morning the kids and I drove David to the hotel for his meetings so we could meet some of his co-workers. Tucker wanted nothing to do with anyone, Bailey, on the other hand, would have jumped into anyone's arms and flash her ever excited smile. I enjoyed meeting many of the people that David works with. I hear their names often, and have always put images in my head of what they look like. Some I was close, and others I was WAY off! Later that afternoon the kids and I went back to spend the afternoon and evening with David and his co-workers. We walked up and down Fremont street and had so much fun.

David didn’t have meetings on Thursday which was a bonus because we initially thought he would. So, we used one of his co-workers hotel keys and went swimming at the pool at the Golden Nugget. It was a really cool pool that had a waterslide and a fish tank right in the middle of it. Tucker and Bailey were pretty mesmerized by all of the fish and the SHARKS! Smile

Yeah, that’s a big shark behind us. Eeek!IMG_0168

We had so much fun at the pool, and both of the kids took good naps that afternoon. That evening David and I went to dinner with my two brothers, Dan & Dave, and Dave’s with Rachel. We went to the buffet at Sunset Station and it was delicious, as always! We enjoyed the food, conversation and company! Then again, it’s always fun when with my brothers. Smile

Friday we took the kids to the strip. We had so much fun. We walked from the Excalibur through all of the hotels up to Cesars Palace. When we were in Cesars we enjoyed some delicious Gelato and caught the end of one of the statue shows. It was so fun. Then the kids got to enjoy the big fish tank in there for awhile. We walked the strip for about 5 hours, and the kids did great. We wound up playing some games in the arcade of the Excalibur, and we also made a stop in the M&M Factory. It was such a fun day! Smile

We had an amazing time on our family vacation. The kids, overall, did really great. Aside from the sleeping situation with Bailey we had a rather uneventful trip. It was so fun to see my brothers, sister-in-law and nephews, and to see David’s Sister, Brother-in-law and nephews. We hope to be able to see all of them again soon.

Bailey loved JD (my brothers dog), but after awhile JD became a little afraid of Bailey and her over loving. Smile
