Garage Floor Makeover

Today we worked on our garage. We decided to do an "Epoxy-Coat" coating on the floor. IT WAS SOOOO COLD!! Ok, I know that most of you reading this are in places much colder then here, but to us it is cold.

The inside of our house was about to be organized enough for pictures, but we had to move EVERYTHING from the garage, into the house. So it is a mess once again. I just hope it is back to being organized before Christmas.

I am so pleased with how it all came together. Tyler and I had to work really fast cutting in and spreading the mixture all around. Then we had to figure out how to get the decorative flakes all the way in the back of the garage without walking on the wet floor. It was pretty funny to watch. Nathan really enjoyed throwing the flakes, and I was glad he was able to help. He always wants to be helpful so it is nice that there was something he was able to do. Here are some before and afters. We should have taken the "Before"s yesterday, before cleaning the concrete. It was pretty nasty, and we had to literally scrub it on our hands and knees. Anyway, Enjoy!

Update...

It is clearly time for an update. The past month is pretty much a blur, and I am glad that things have finally started to slow down. We were able to move in to our house 2 weeks ago, even though there are still some things that need to be done. For instance, we just hung all the interior doors yesterday. But we are just glad to be here.

We are really enjoying the area here too. I never thought that I would say it, but it is not all that bad. When I found out that Tyler was serious about us moving here I cried. And then when he showed me this house and asked me to tell our agent that we wanted to see it, it happened again! I could tell from the one picture that it was going to need a lot of work. I didn't even want to go inside because I knew Tyler would want to take on the challenge of another complete remodel. Our agent met us there, and he sided with Tyler that this was the house we should buy. So here we are with 2 "flips" in less then 4 years of marriage. I don't remember being this worn out after our first one, and I was working part time, pregnant, and always tired then.

Today was our 3rd Sunday in our new ward, and I am already being put to work! Last week I sang in Sacrament, with the choir after learning the song an hour before. The choir has about 8 people, so I thought it would be nice of me to join. Now I am singing a solo in the Christmas Sacrament Meeting, and they had me lead the music in Relief Society today.

The ward we were in while living with my Grandma was so huge that we kind of got lost. There were new families every week, and we didn't really have the chance to serve, or meet many new people, and we were there for five months. This new ward is great! It is pretty small, but I am loving it. I am already making friends and have the feeling I will be able to serve a lot here.

HALLOWEEN

Halloween was lots of fun, Nathan kept saying "I love Halloween!" and couldn't wait to go trick or treating- thanks to the Disney Channel.

We went to our Trunk or Treat at church, and Nathan got so much candy! I only had to tell him to say "Trick or Treat" at the first couple of cars, after that he knew exactly what to do. He was such a cute little fireman.

The Pumpkin Patch

For Family Night this week we went to a Pumpkin Patch! They had a cute little pumpkin train ride there. Nathan had so much fun on the train, and didn't want to do any other activities. We were able to talk him in to going to the petting zoo. And he was not sure what to think about it. We gave him a little bowl with pellets to feed the goats, and they all started running towards him when they saw the food. So he dropped the bowl and was ready to get out of there.

We had been working at the house all day, that is why we look so rough.

My Boys...

Today Nathan decided to wear a tie to church for the very first time. I had to take a picture of him with Tyler, because they just looked so GREAT! Nathan is getting to be such a big boy. He is also such a good helper.

And here are some pictures of the amazing countertops at our new house. They are Granite Tiles, and Tyler did it all by himself. He is SOOOOO Handy! And I am so lucky to have him!




Nathan had so much fun at the new house yesterday. He helped his Papa and Grandma Rosy with landscaping and is so happy that there is grass there. Here are some pictures of the newly landscaped yard. We still need to spread the rock and plant the rest of our plants, but it is quite the change. I am very nervous for our Water Bill, but Nathan needs a yard, and so do I! It was so much work though. My parents came and worked sooo hard! They were MACHINES! I felt bad seeing them work so hard, but they are just really good at landscaping. My Mom says my Dad enjoys it, but I am not sure I have heard those words come from his mouth. Anyway we couldn't have done it without them. I am extremely sore, and I didn't work nearly as hard as they did. So if you like the yard, please tell them too! My parents are SO GREAT!

Our Soon To Be .... HOME SWEET HOME!

Well work is going well at our new house. For those of you who don't know ...

We moved to Henderson, Nevada mid June 2007. We have been staying with Monica's Grandma while shopping for a house. We finally found one, but it needs some work. We have almost finished painting the inside, and work has begun on the cabinets. We also had the "jungle" cleared. The yard was overgrown with all sorts of trees and shrubs which had not been watered in about a year. If you think it sounds/ looks bad, you are not too far off. It is however a HUGE improvement from our last home purchase, which we bought right after it had burned down! That is just how we roll. Our burned down condo was such a blessing. We got more then 2 times what we paid for it, so we are hoping we can do the same with our new house. As you can imagine, we have had to buy alot of stuff, just check out the picture of Tyler below holding our 5 ft Lowes reciept!
