School Supply Pencil Book Craftivity

I wanted to share with you quickly a cute little School Supply Pencil Book Craftivity that I created for my class. This is a cute, fun book for students to make that they can take home to practice the school supply words. The school supply words that are included in this book are crayon, school, bus, glue, notebook, scissors, pencil, book and paint.

This is the front cover.

Here are some examples of the inside pages.

Your students get to practice reading and tracing the school words.

Here is the back cover.

This is a great way for them to learn school related words along with working on their fine motor skills. I love having my students practice their tracing and cutting skills.

I'll be giving away this craftivity to one lucky follower. Good luck!

Colors and the Giveaway Winner Is....

Colors, Colors, Everywhere! I know many of you do colors with Kindergarten in the beginning of the year. We read many books that have to do with colors, but my favorites are "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?" by Eric Carle and "Pete the Cat" by Eric Litwin. I just LOVE the song and book. How about you?

Well, here are a few pictures of some of the activities that my class completed with my Colors Unit.

This is my example of the sequencing activity worksheet. After reading the story and using my pocket chart activity, my students had to place the characters in order from beginning to end. Here are close up pictures.

We also made my Brown Bear Book Craftivity. My students made a brown bear out of construction paper and then we glued the book onto it's tummy so they could take it home and read it.

Later in the week, we read "Pete the Cat". We made a class big book of what color shoes we like. Here is my example and a few of my students work. I love how cute theirs came out!

Aren't they adorable!?!

We also did several other activities from the unit, but camera battery died and I didn't get pictures of them. I have now remembered to bring my camera charger with me everyday to school.

There's No Place Like Home...and a Giveaway

So I am home from vacation and was suppose to be going to a Common Core Workshop for the next 4 days, however plans have changed. On our drive home yesterday, my little girl became very cranky. I checked her and noticed that she had a fever. Oh boy, that was long drive from Georgia to South Florida! When we finally got in, I was able to take her temperature which fluctuated between 100 and 101. So, I'm staying home with her and hopefully can get things done around the house and finish up some units that I started on my trip. (We'll see how that goes.)

Anyways, a former co-worker of mine who just moved back to Buffalo is having a 100+ Follower Giveaway. Hello, Cindy! (Insert wave here.) Check out her blog Primary Reading Party.

I have donated my unit of Homophones for her Giveaway. You can also check it out in my TPT store by clicking below.

Have a Marvelous Monday everyone!
