Date Night

So Ryan and I had a date night....with my Dad, Grampy and Ryan's sister Lisa. We went to the Clark's Planetarium (where Ryan fell in love and talked me into getting an entire year's membership). It was fun. We went to the 3-D movie, Sea Monsters.

So the only thing I kept thinking was....these glasses had better be sterilized!

Two very handsome boys putting on the charm!

During the show Grampy got so scared that he yelled at the Sea Monster to get away and then proceeded to throw popcorn at it to throw him off....always the jokster.

Afterward we practiced being a live weatherman (or weather chic for Lisa and I)....

...and got lost on Mars.

but thank goodness Ryan was strong enough to save us and just lift the whole darn planet! My hero!

It was a fun date night and I was with my favorite boys.

Ryan's Barn

So I know that I am bombarding everyone with all of my new posts...but when a girl's on fire...she's gotta jump in!

So to fill everyone in on what has happened in the last few months....Ryan has been working a lot on some pretty big jobs and I can't tell you how many time he has been told what a hard worker he is. He took a job to paint (inside and out) of an entire BARN! What that boy won't do for love!

While he was working on the barn he had a very curious helper named George that always wanted to know what Ryan was doing. He was always nibbling on Ryan's ears and neck when he wasn't looking and knocking over paint and knocking down his ladder. He made the work more difficult but more exciting and not so lonely for little ol' Ryan.

Ryan's Fishing Trip

FINALLY....Ryan was able to scratch his itch and head up to Strawberry Reservoir with a 'buddy' of his a few Saturday's ago. He had the time of his life. He caught 4 big Cut-throat Salmon and also a bunch of Craw-Daddy's. I didn't even know they were real until I saw a picture of them in my sink. Thank goodness they were gone before I got home! He is a very smart husband. Here are some pics for the fishermen in all of you. (I have to say...I love fishing as much as the next GAL, but am so glad I got to sit this one out. Too cold for my blood!)

Colorado Trip

So the weekend of conference we decided to go to Colorado and spend some time with Ryan's family. We of course went in the great travel coach of ours, the beloved Mazda, and had a great adventure. Ryan got a speeding ticket in Laramie, Wyoming. His first ever and we feel very good about our little donation to the ever crowding populated state of Wyoming! Then about three hours into the trip our stereo went out and left us five hours to finish the trip to Colorado with nothing but good quality talk time. Ladies, when they say to marry your best friend...they were right. That would have been an awful thing if Ryan and I weren't such good friends! By now we are sick of sitting cramped in the ghetto-mobile and hungry. I thought we might be going the wrong way...but no...I could be wrong. When we saw a huge sign saying, "Welcome to Nebraska" we knew we were slightly off course. Even though we were a whole two hours off schedule it was fun to say that I have been to Nebraska and get my Nebraska state-shaped magnet to prove it! One more to check off the list.

Once in Colorado we had a lot of fun with Ryan's family. Saturday involved going to a pumpkin patch which included a baby petting zoo! This was by far my favorite part!
This is the cutest baby goat and I tried to stick him in my purse but then he ate it...just kidding....he didn't fit!
This is Ryan's Mom (Kathy), Sister (Kara), Brother-in-law (John-Paul) and nephew (Caleb) scratching the belly of the sweetest big. He didn't get up until they stopped scratching.

So the girls in this family are pretty short....but cute!

Even though this goat wasn't as cute as the little white one, it liked me the best and let me pet it whenever I wanted to. I felt a little silly chasing the white one and yelling at it to let me pet it. Needless to say, he never quite warmed up to me.

Out of all of the baby animals, the six-month old baby camel was the cutest. I felt something tickling my neck and turns out it was the camel munching on my hair. I have never seen anything that was cuter...well maybe Gabers (my little nephew)! Ryan looks a bit like the camel, no?

Ryan and his dad had a great time ringing the bell. Like father like son is all I have to say!

Okay, maybe I lied....I think Norman might have been the cutest animal at the zoo. How can you not goo over this little mop of hair?!? Pictures don't do him justice believe me!

Well, with all of the fun that we had on our weekend I shamlessly have to say that we weren't able to watch conference. Ryan's family doesn't get it at home so we are playing catch-up to hear it in chunks. Thank goodness for the internet and DVR! We will catch up however and reclaim our spiritual status.

Bear Lake Trip

Still love being married.....am I really MRS. TOMKINSON? That doesn't stop being wierd for me!

After the long delay, the much awaited new post has now been posted. Thank you for eveyone that gave me a hard time and pushed me into this!

So in August we went to Bear Lake with the family and had a blast. I had never been there and it was about time. We went hiking in a cave with my 85 year old Grampy (who climbed up and down a total of 888 steps just months after having a complete hip replacement....Go Grampy!).

Ryan was brave enough to take our three nieces (Alex, Sidney and Courtnie) and nephew (Gabriel) out into the cold blue lake to scuba dive.

We bought our scuba gear in Barbados and it has come in handy a few times. For some reason I just feel so much safer using it in a swimming pool than I do in the open water...call me crazy.

Ryan smoked us all on the wake board...

I am happy to say that I got up gracefully and then tanked so hard into the water I swear I still have Bear Lake water coming out my nose and ears. It was fun but I will need at least one year to forget how painful those falls were. I just stuck to the tube where the only skill required is to plug your nose right before you hit the water. Easy. My kind of sport!

We had fun with our family...especially the kids. Gabe (my nephew even let us bury him in the sand).

Then there is always cute Grampy and Gabe together...Priceless!

The Wedding came and went and normal life began....almost!

The honeymoon was amazing! It was a suprise to me where we were going and everyone, especially Ryan did a great job at keeping it a secret. Barbados sure beats Idaho or heading to Mississippi for some fried twinkies! It was the best honeymoon a girl could ask for. The sunsets were spectacular.

Ryan (me not so much) got really good at driving on the right side of the car and on the left side of the road. So good in fact that it was difficult for him to drive normal again when we got back home.

We stayed at the Crane Resort which was originally built in the 1800s. Our room was gorgeous and the resort sat right on the beach.

We went to the beach....a lot...

Played in the trees...

Snorkled...

Went to church...sort of.

Saw some some REALLY wierd things.....

Really gross milipedes sucking sap...

Baby crabs...

and really scary Barbadian dolls...Voo-Doo Dolls?!?

....and some REALLY amazing things.

The largest tree we have ever seen....

breath-taking views....

and unforgettable sunsets.

We went Jet-Skiing...

(and about peed my pants the entire time...SCARY on an ocean!)

went baby fishing...

well...kind of...

(Don't worry. This little guy lived and was put back to sea as happy as a clam!)

lived very 'posh' when we visited Sandy Lanes Resort...

(This is the hotel where Tiger Woods was married and is a whopping $1200 a night!!! We only stayed there 10 days....we wish!!!)

made some new friends...
(What more could a girl ask for than to have her wish come true to kiss a hot islander and have her husband take the picture? Lucky I just guess!)

...and got some REALLY great tans!

We had an amazing time on our honeymoon and it has only gotten better since. We are so happy to have found each other.
We want to thank all of you for helping us along the way with whatever you may have helped us with and are so happy to have you in our lives.

Love,

Ryan & Tiff
