Trying to Catch Up
It seems that the time has flown since our last posting...So much has happened. In the last post. First Scoobs first started to crawl, he was off to a slow start. But, as soon as he could he really picked up speed. Once he began to move a around he really started to like crawling from the carpeted areas out into the middle of the tile. He would sit out there an play and as his confidence grew, he would venture further and further until he was cruising quite quickly around the house. One thing that we have learned about Christian is that he likes to move all the time. Since he was born, he has always been a little wiggle worm.

With his newfound moving skills, we soon had to teach our little move and shaker how to go safely up the stairs. Or should I saw we were compelled to teach him as he was very interested in navigating the stairs on his own. In this picture, he is almost saying it is okay for me to go up?

This summer, Christian was able to spend some time with his family. Both Grandpa Boston and Uncle Brandon came to visit. Christian really loves people! We have been so very blessed to have had so much time with family since Christian has been born. We are grateful that it is priority for our extended family to get together as often as possible.
This summer, we went and visited the geese. Now mind you, these aren't any ordinary geese, they flocked to us as soon as we exited the car expecting to be fed. Christian was a little apprehensive.

Super Grandmas to the Recue!
As crazy as life has been for us, this period of transition wouldn't have been possible without our moms coming to help us through it! Each of them came for a week to watch the baby and he really enjoyed the time with each of them. I have such a greater appreciation for parents everywhere now that I am one! I constantly find myself in awe of other parents who successfully raise thier kids while holding down jobs, doing service, and going to church. I am very grateful that we have such a loving and supportive family and I wish we could spend more time together.

Life Gets Hectic!
It seems like since the baby has been born, that my life plays before me like a movie. I like to think of each of phase and name it like Will Smith does in the movie the Pursuit of Happyness. I think this phase will be known as Running Like Chickens With Our Heads Cut Off. Life has become very busy as things have changed for both Christian and our family. I have been trying to adjust to being back at work. It has been a big stuggle for me to try and find balance between all the things I have to do, like clean the house and make dinner and the things I want to do like play with the baby and Tim. Things are getting a bit easier as I realized that the things I "have to do" don't really all have to be done here and now.
The baby reached several milestones of his own. He has learned to roll over and I like to call him a rolling fool! Once he is on his tummy, he tries to push himself up and can pivot to grab a toy that he wants. He is getting better every day with his hand coordination and will grab at anything he can get his cute little fingers on! The other day, I was holding a hair in my hand and he was able to grasp it from me. Unfortunately, whatever he gets ahold of usually ends up in his mouth. If I could have just one wish, I would wish that we had more hours in the day to laugh and play together.

Some Highlights of Christian's 3rd Month!

How the baby is growing!!!
He has outgrown another size and has moved on to 3-6 month clothes...so hard to believe that he was still in newborn clothes not that long ago. It seems like Christian is doing new things all the time now. He is so sweet and so much fun to watch. He really is interested in everything in the world around him. Now he will not only coo at people, but at objects. Today he was really interested in this little dog we have that plays music and he gazed at intently for quite a bit of time. Also, he has taken an interest in sucking on his hands and so everything that he touches has a lot more spit on it! Bathtime is becoming more enjoyable as he learns to spash around and recently he learned to hold on to a rattle and shake it for a bit. Mom helps him get the rattle in his hand, but then he can really shake it! He is such a joy to have in our home and our lives. We can't believe how wonderful life is now that we can share it with him :)
