Second Christmas

Because of the horrible weather on Christmas, we didn't know if we were going to be able to make it out. My sister and her family were expecting a big storm that evening, so we decided to postpone Christmas.. My sister Tamy came in from Vegas, so were got together for a postponed Christmas.
We gave my sister's family the game Settlers of Katan.

Jax got a really cute train that has the alphabet on top of it.

Grandma and Grandma gave Jax Thomas the Train track, to go with what Santa brought Jax...

My sister Debbie, was not able to come up for Christmas, but made my parents this AWESOME quilt. It is a picture quilt. She is soo talented!

Merry Christmas!

Jax in front of our Christmas Tree
Santa brought a "Mac" truck

Jax must have been a very good little boy, Santa brought him a train...Just like Jax had asked for.
Mommy and Daddy gave him "A Land Before Time", a bunch of clothes and some books

The fantastic snow storm we got for Christmas... Just what Mom and Dad had asked for.....NOT!!!!
My parents were supposed to come out to our house for Christmas morning... We woke up and saw how much snow there was, Cory went out to try and dig out... (We had 4 feet in our driveway....gotta love drifting snow!) I called my parents to warn them, and suggest that they may not want to come out.... I think they thought I was crazy... They live about 20 minutes away, so they headed out...We got a phone call a short time later saying they made it about half way...and turned back because it was sooo crazy! We missed having them out, but were glad they didn't try to attempt it. (we had cars stuck all over our street) Of course this picture doesn't do it justice, but if you look at the truck you can see how far up the tires the snow goes...
We decided that we were going to just stay home.....but then Mom got stir crazy... We ventured out and after a few blocks it wasn't so bad. Once we got into were our families live all they had was a sciff.. LUCKY!

Jax opening presensts at Ama and Papa's

Swweet a car!
When we returned home it appears that a snow plow had made it down our street.... We had to move a wall of snow almost as tall as me to get in our driveway... Luckily we had taken a shovel with us in the car (just in case we got stuck)
We had a great Christmas and hope all of you did as well.....
Merry Christmas!

Cory's Work Christmas Party

Cory had his company party at Noah's. It was a really fun party. They invited the whole family. They had Santa for the kids, and then they had dinner. They had an adult buffet, and also a kids buffet that included chicken strips and Mac and Cheese. They had in another room Christmas movies playing on a projector, and then they also had ice skating. We took Jax out on the ice (just in our shoes) He had such a good time!

Here is Jax ice skating with Daddy!
Jax with Santa

Saturday, December 6, 2008

Today we went and saw Santa for the first time this year. Jaxon seemed pretty calm so it worked out well. Santa was nice, and he gave Jaxon a candy cane with M&M's in it. Jaxon loves those! Jaxon has been really fun with Christmas this year every time he sees a house with lights on it he points out the "merry mismas lights" (he can't quite say Christmas yet but its cute). He also made grandma and grandpa change their reindeer in front of their house so one had a red nose like Rudolph.

Some pretty good news!

Yesterday we had our annual visit to Primary Children's for Jax's sedated Echo cardiogram, When Jax was about 5 months old they diagnosed him with Left ventricular hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. What that means is that the muscle surrounding the left ventricle is thicker and stiffer than it should be, making it difficult for the heart to relax and for the blood to fill the heart chambers. The limited filling also prevents the heart from supplying enough blood to the body. There are cases that the muscle thins out on it's own, but generally if that is going to happen it happens by age 1. The good news is last August we took him in and they could find abnormalities on his EKG, and also on his Echo. This time Jax's cardiologist said that his EKG looks completely normal, and they couldn't see anything on his Echo. We still will have to continue to follow up annually. Jax was such a good sport! We are sooo grateful to have him in our lives. He has such a sweet, loving little spirit about him!

Tagged 6's

So my friend Andrea "tagged" me. The rules are.... Go to your 6th folder, and find the 6th picture and tell about it! Then tag 6 friends to do the same...Thanks Andrea, it was really fun to go back and look at pictures that were taken awhile ago!
This picture was taken on August 20th when Jax was almost 4 months old. He is being held by his cousin Dereck. We were at my parents house probably for a dinner right before my dad had knee surgery. Dereck just left on his mission to Flagstaff Arizona. We love you Dereck and are so proud of you!

I tag: Amber, Brynn, Jamie, Kim, Michelle, Sari, and Teresa

It's Halloweeeeeen Time......

Cory and I both had to work, we got off a little early, headed to Ama and Papa's house, Kristin's and then we headed home, had Grandma and Grandpa over for dinner, and then headed out trick or treating. Jax had a great time! Dad and Grandpa stayed home and passed out candy, and Grandma and I went out with Jax, we went for an hour! Jax wanted more but we decided that mom and dad had plenty of candy to eat! ha ha ha

Here is a picture of Jax's pumpkin...

I don't know how many more pieces we could have had on this pumpkin! Thanks Ama and Papa for the fun pumpkin!

These are a couple of girls I work with. We have these green squares that are by our cubies that look like they belong on Mario Bros. They became the theme for our costumes... Jenice and I were the turtles, and Marilyn is the "Life" Mushroom. Sasha was a huge stretch. She was a republican.. Thanks Jenice for the cute costumes!

Boo at the Zoo

Heidi asked if we wanted to go to "Boo at the Zoo" Ama, Papa, Chad, Jennie, Ethan, Dave, Heidi, and Mia were all going and since it was going to be a nice day, we thought it would be really fun. The kids dress up in their Halloween costumes, and then you get to trick or treat a bunch of vendors plus see the animals....Sounds fun right? Well apparently us and about a million other people thought so as well. When we got there at 9:00 the line to get into the park (not the line to buy tickets) was almost to the top of the parking lot.....Then we got inside, and there were a million people. You would stand in line for 20 minutes to get a piece of candy...hmmm worth it? I don't think so. We finally smartened up and just decided to see the animals....The kids had a fun time, the animals were up and playing since it was cooler. I think this was a once in a lifetime event....
Next year I think we will go the week before, let the kids dress up and take a bag of candy...

Visiting Vegas...

Brittney and Tina

Brittney and Jax

My sister Debbie, Dad, Mom, Jax, Brother in law Jeff, sister Tamy, and I.

We had an unexpected visit to Vegas...My cute little niece(ok so she isn't that little anymore, just makes me feel a little younger when I say that) is having a baby girl! Cory was on a buisness trip to San Diego, so I decided to ride down with my mom and dad. My Mom, Dad, Jax and I left Thursday morning. We made a pitstop in Spanish Fork for breakfast, Fillmore because Jax wanted "to get out" we stopped and went to the territory capitol. My parents bought Jax a couple of plastic horses for a buck, they kept him entertained for hours!! Who knew a couple cheap pieces of plastic could be sooo fun! We were able to drive to Mesquite and grabbed lunch, and then we finally made it to Henderson. Jax was such a good little boy the whole way! I have decided if I ever need to do another road trip, I am definatly hiring GRANDMA!! She was the best! Once we got there we just kinda hung out and helped my sister get ready for the baby shower which she was hosting. Friday was another day of hanging out, we went across the street to the park and played. Cory flew in later that night. We did a night out on the town and went to Benihana's for dinner with my nephew Josh, and his wife Ashly, Brittney my niece and her husband Chris, and Cory and I. Saturday was the shower, and Sunday we drove home. We stopped at the St. George Temple and took these pictures...

If this were a different temple, wouldn't it be PERFECT for the opening shot of General Confence? Cory took this and I just absolutly love it!!!!

Witches...also known as Halloween

Jax has been really funny this year about Halloween... The Wal-Mart by our home has a couple of big inflatable Halloween displays in their store, and a couple of witches that stand about 5 feet tall and move...you get the point. The first time we saw them he said to me " Halloween " (in an excited voice) and then he saw the witches, he looked them over not taking an eye off of them and said to me "kinda scary". He was sooo fascinated with it. Now everytime we go there, we have to see the "Halloween" and the "kinda scary". We have to make our way over to the witches, and watch them, but not tooo close.

Today we went to Gardner Village and saw the witches. We went with Aunt Heidi and Cousin Mia. They had a lot of fun running around looking for the next witch. At first Jax wasn't too excited about getting close to them....but he eventually warmed up. Jax still calls witches, Halloween...
We had a great time!
Thanks Heidi and Mia for playing today!!
