March 10, 2011

I've been in Rexburg a little over a month now and life is good.
Still no job, but life is good. Got word from the visa office that our interview will
most likely be in May. This means that the wedding for June isn't going to happen.
We'll be moving it to July or August most likely, if the interview happens on schedule.
Jackie's coming down to Montana on the 16th, and I'll be going to pick her up. Her Mom and sister will be with her, so I get to meet them. It'll be an exciting day. Most likely I'll be driving with Jackie back up to Canada, to visit the rest of the family after her visit here.

Thats about all the news we've got for now.
Figured I'd update the blog this morning .

It's Official

Octoberish , 2010

Well, It's official. I've now been engaged for a little over a month. We're happy, and miserable at the same time. She's still in Korea, and I'm back in the States. Her name is Jackie, and she's from Canada. We're planning to wed in June, if the visa situation goes through both smoothly, and quickly. We're praying it does. This is one of our only two photos together (the other is a Skype snapshot my parents took, they were begging for one). We would have more but we were too busy making the most of our time before I left, and taking photos just wasn't on our minds. This picture was taken by very accommodating airport personnel just before I went through the "gate of no return" to catch my plane. We may not be together right now, but thanks to wonderfully free internet video chat services, we should be able to make it till February, when we'll schedule in a visit or two (or more) before the wedding.

Novemberish ,2010

Well, the visa situation is moving along. A little slower than I'd like because of simultaneous job hunting, and all around adjustment to life back in the states. It's been a months' time now and I'm still not quite in sync with the time difference. Maybe it's because my laptop's still on Korean time. It helps me know when to call (or not call) Jackie. Today I went into a job interview, and it went well. It's a seasonal job helping to deliver packages. I haven't gotten the job yet, but it seems likely I'll be helping Santa out this Christmas.
