Christmas 09!

JD and I had an amazing christmas! As usual, Christmas eve is spent at my mom's home with my brother's and sister and families. We always have great food and fun with the kids. I miss being a kid around Christmas time, it used to take so long to fall asleep and I'd wake up at 3 am. I loved it! Christmas day JD and I go to our sibling's homes to see what all the kids get and then go to JD's grandparents house to eat. After visiting the grandparents we go to JD's parents house for more presents. I love Christmas time and I am so blessed. I couldn't find my camera but here's some from JD's.

My snuggie, gracefully shown by my favorite sis. I freakin love it!
Our tree was so beautiful when it was alive. It drooped probably 2 feet. lol

JD's parents house!

Leather jacket, scarf, brownie mix w/ hot pad, home decor, Dexter calender, 2 Proposals, Juicy Couture bag, and a magazine. Not pictured: snuggie, bath products, PJ's, slipper booties, gift card, and Itunes card.

Shih-tzu
She was too busy chewing on her bone so I had to lift up her face for a picture! She's a hoot, I love her so much.

I am so blessed to have such a great family and husband. Christmas isn't made up of presents but of happiness with family and realizing how blessed we are. I'm so thankful for everything Heavenly Father has blessed us with.

Bountiful Invitational

The U'ettes did a great job at this last competition also! Our competition was Bonneville (they are awesome!). It was great to see advanced 4A teams and realize that we really have to "Step It UP." and the results are...

Hip-Hop: Great performance, some timing issues, really good showmanship. 1st place went to Fremont which is a 5A school but we placed 2nd and Bonneville got 3rd.

Military: Of course the girls totally rocked it. 1 spacing problem but great energy and sharpness. 1st place.

Dance: We had to put Jasmine in at the last second but she did great. Some personal mistakes were made and more energy is necessary. 2nd Place.

Kick: Great kicks and formations, personal mistakes were made again. Some people said we should've taken 1st but oh well. 2nd Place.

Drill down: 1st place - Brinli Buckalew 2nd place - Charly Holyoak 3rd place - Emily Watkins...All girls from Uintah!

Solos: Chelsea Richens 3rd place

The whole competition went by so fast that I felt rushed and unfocused but I really liked getting the whole thing over so quickly. We're working hard to reach our goals for the year!

On other notes...
- I'm so excited for Christmas! I already got an early present which is my new puppy, Princess Sophia Banana Hammack. She is so stinkin cute! (shihtzu)

- I got some red/copper high lights in my hair!
- Our drill team christmas party was so much fun. We got the girls giraffe rolling duffelbags with pink trim. They got us some scentsy stuff. mmmMmmm good

- I received my first flu shot. The actual shot didn't hurt but the day after was horrible!

drill team!

This passed weekend we competed in Delta, Utah. It was my first competition as a coach so I was so nervous and anxious!! Friday night was the solo competition, in which two U'ettes competed. Chelsea Richens (I choreographed her solo) placed 2nd and Felisha Newman placed 3rd. They both did an amazing job and I'm excited to see them excel at other competitions.

They first competed the Hip-Hop routine. Everyone loved their costumes and dance. They executed it great and we definitely reached our goal which was to master Lifting and Showmanship. Results: 1st place

2nd was Military which was choreographed by Robin McClellan (the Military Master). They performed it so well that I got chills even after the dance was over! They were soo sharp and did an excellent job. Results: 1st place

3rd was Dance which was choreographed by Rachel Larson. Her choreography is so wickedly cool and so unique that no other team has anything close to ours but the girls could have had more energy. They performed it well though and I'm very proud. Results: 2nd place

4th was Kick which was choreographed by me. Right after dance, Maddie twisted her ankle again and couldn't dance on it so an alternate was put in at the last minute. My adrenaline and stress levels finally peaked! Luckily Brittany was prepared and did an amazing job. The judges really liked the choreography!! yay! Results: 1st place

Drill down: 5 girls all from Uintah took drill down aka swept it fo sho! I'm so proud of my girls for working so hard and focusing.

All in all, it was a great 1st competition to the season. Now all we have to go is up!

My recent obsession...

I am completely in love with New Moon.
I absolutely love this movie. They kept to the book and the acting has improved. I was amazed at how good the interpretation of the werewolves played out. They were exactly how I imagined them. Bella is much prettier in this movie, Jacob is a freakin hottie, and even Alice looked way prettier. I loved the whole Italy/Volterra scene. Aro did an amazing job with his character and the fight scene was great. I LOVED it and I can't wait to see it again, let alone buy it!

It's been a while...

I've had a hella bad last 3 weeks so I haven't posted anything happy or positive. Don't worry, my life is improving! Even though I went through tough trials, I still had to realize that I am so incredibly blessed. I can't find my cord to connect my camera to my computer so no pics today.

JD's cousin got married in Logan so we went to that and had a jolly time! We also went to SLC to play Fast Kart and go through the Nightmare on 13th. Both activities were soooo much fun! We also went to Brynna and DR's Halloween party. I dressed up in a Husky Boys 10-12 Optimus Prime costume and JD was Alejandro, the dirty mexican. On Halloween, we went to my sister's house for dinner. That night I was a cat and JD was Alejandro again.

Drill Team is going really well. Our competition routines are getting cleaner and cleaner. If anyone wants to come watch practice, feel free to come!

I watch Mason two days a week. He's getting so big and almost crawling! He smiles so much but absolutely hates to get his diaper changed.

Swanky spa has moved to a new location. 1303 West 600 South, next to Exit Realty. Anyone can bring 5 cans of food for a FREE eyebrow wax! Remember, gift certificates are available and make great gifts for the holidays.

here it is

Hunting season: when husbands leave their wives
I wasn't totally looking forward to hunting season but I was sure I'd be ok without JD for a while. Last year I did so good, I never got too emotional so I thought I would be able to handle it this year. After the first few days, I really started to miss him. Soon, I got missing him so badly and wanted him to be home. I felt like my other half was suddenly gone and I hated it! I was stressed, sad, and emotional. WT HECK? (no I'm not pregnant) But he finally came home and I was all better! It just hit me hard this year...

I'm so broken-hearted right now. I'm so attached to my dog and I had to take her to be fixed. I picked her up today from the vet and she was shivering so bad because she was so scared. I took her home and she just cries and shakes! I feel sooooo bad...She cries when she switches position cuz it hurts and she shivers because she's in pain. Luckily I have some medicine for her to take the next few days. I just feel soo bad.

I'm in need of a work-out buddy/motivater! JD got me a FREE 1 year pass to Freedom Fitness and I need the motivation to push myself. After my appendectomy I feel like the pounds have just packed on like I'm getting ready for hibernation or something! It's sick. I also get bored with the same work outs. Any ideas?

i love my family :) this is what happens when I leave the bed. Everyone else gets in my spot.

rendezvous

For Labor Day, some of the Hackings and Horrocks went to the Mountain Man Rendezvous in Fort Bridger, WY. Ghetto, I know! Some people seriously are freaks. There are just a ton of booths selling the same stuff (animal coats, beads, mountain man clothes, knives). People even dress up like indians and mountain men for this event. Luckily I found some way cute bracelets so my day wasn't totally unproductive. They had the best homeade Creme Soda!

Outlaws
Best creme soda ever

JD with his glasses lol

This is a preview of what it looks like...just a bunch of booths.
JD had his Lasik surgery on thursday at Hoopes Vision in SLC. Everything went very well and now he has great vision. All the paperwork took us so long but that actual procedure is very fast and painfree. Everyone at Hoopes was very helpful and professional, I would recommend it to anyone interested in lasik.
Drill Team is going really good. Swanky has slowed down :( but hopefully it will get busier soon.
Hunting season has started. I can't believe its already that time of year (where has 2009 gone?).
Yes, I've already eaten at Cafe Rio a couple times. I love it so much and so glad its here!
Things I'm looking forward to:
1. Wearing cardigans and boots (i'm trying to stay positive about cold weather)
2. Mason to start sitting up on his own
3. New Moon
4. the Holidays
5. Getting in shape

bittersweet chaos

ExTrA ExTrA read all about it:

I am the head coach for the drill team. Yes, it's big and exciting. I'm passed the nervous stage and now I'm at the "oh my gosh, what do I do next?" stage. I'm so lucky to have Robin at a phone call away. How she has done this for so many successful years I'll never know. She's so talented and a bit crazy I think. (lol, jk). They performed at the football game on Friday and they did so great! Except, the music suddenly stopped in the middle of the dance but they didn't miss a bit because they know what to do in the situation. I felt soooo bad though. Whenever something like that happens, I always feel like I should've known better or been able to control it. But still, the crowd went crazy and the dance was awesome.
I've only been the coach not even a week and we're already going out of town to perform (AAhhh). The drill team will be performing at the Snow College football game on September 5th at halftime. Yay!
I am healing so well from surgery. My swelling has gone down but it's not gone completely :(. The incision on my left side is still uncomfortable and if feels like I will definitely have scar tissue there. I just want to be back to normal! ugh...
I am looking forward to CAFE RIO so much that I just want to work there because I love it so much. Even if I did work there, I don't think I could get sick of it. I'm not sure when it opens but I will be there opening day. I'm pretty sure that the workers will get to know who I am cuz I'll be there alot.

appendectomy

Appendectomy: the surgical removal of the appendix

Friday night was the performance for the Little Girls Clinic for drill team. I started having cramps around 5 but didn't think much of it. After the performance and by 8:00 I was in incredible pain. I laid down in the dance room for about 45 minutes waiting for the pain to go away and for my mom to pick me up. JD was in Roosevelt for Skyler Massey's reception. I was in the ER at 9 pm. I had Dr. Daniels do several tests on me until at 1:00 am when they decided I needed my appendix taken out. The on-call doctor (Dr. Allen) wanted to wait til morning for the procedure. I could handle the pain when I was on Morphine but every two hours I would get all my vitals checked so I didn't sleep well at all. The first night my mom stayed with me and JD was there for the surgery. After surgery, all I could have was ice chips because my intestines had to wake up before I could eat. In other words, I had to fart to eat. I had to stay a 2nd night along with all the vital checks every two hours. JD slept on a reclining chair (which he ended up breaking haha). I finally farted in the morning so I got jello, broth, juice, and 7up for breakfast. All I ate was the jello and juice. I finally got to come home this morning around 11 am.

The tests were interesting and some painful. If any of you have had your appendix removed you know what I'm talking about.

My bloated/swollen belly. On my right side and belly button are where the cameras went in to see what angle my appendix was in. The big left band-aid is from where it was removed. The two smaller ones should only be 1/4 inch and the left one should be 1/2 inch long.
JD gave me the bouquet on the left, the Drill Team gave me the one in the middle, and my mom gave me the roses. The green card and cake is from Morgan (drill teamer) and the Orange card is from the whole drill team. Thanks everyone!
This was very bad timing, of course. Robin's last day of drill team is Tuesday, so I really need to be there. ah!
On other news, Truly had fleas! sick, huh? JD has been so good though. He bathed all the dogs with flea and tick remover shampoo.

Live your Life

Lately...

Rachel Brown's (a girl on drill team) dad passed away in a motorcycle accident. The only day of practice she missed was the day of the funeral. My heart broke for her and her family. The whole drill team went to the funeral service up in the Whiterocks mountains. It was really casual (jeans, shirts). They decided to do it at Terry's favorite place to be and thats where he also baptized his kids. Their pastor spoke and played some of Terry's favorite songs. Anyone who wanted to say a word about Terry had the chance. At the end, everyone got a balloon and released it into the sky. It made me realize how blessed I am to be sealed to JD FOREVER. I'm so glad I know and believe strongly in the Plan of Salvation.

Robin in taking a leave of absence due to McCray's recently diagnosed Diabetes. He's only 6 years old. She really needs to be there not only for McCray but for her whole family. She can't just give the responsibility to her older children because they're just kids themselves. She was so torn when she had to make the decision but its the best for her and her family. I'm going to apply for Head Coach...I feel scared, anxious, stressed, excited, overwhelmed but this team is so awesome. They clean so fast and catch on to dances very well. 4A teams better be scared.

U'ettes little girl clinic is this upcoming week. Starting Wednesday and going through Friday with two performances. One performance is friday at 11:30 for the parents and then at the football game later that night. Registration in Wednesday morning at 8:45 (I think). $25 a girl (includes a shirt)

I had the flu earlier this week. It totally sucked and unfortunately I passed it to my sister. I just gave myself a chemical peel (4 layer with Lactic) that was much needed. I got my hair colored (really dark brown) and layered. I finally finished 1 solo which means i have 2 more to go!

Ballies!

I'm officially a mountain woman. Finally Grandpa Jude took some days off work so everyone packed up for a camping trip to the Ballies. When Jude was 14 years old he helped herd 3,000 sheep to the ballies from Diamond mountain. So it was a Hacking family trip!

UPS:
1) Mountain food! (steaks, potatoes, fish, potatoes, potatoes...)
2) Scenery was beautiful
3) Saw some Moose
4) Hearing some of Grandpa Jude's stories

DOWNS:
1) Sleeping on the ground (OUCH! I still hurt)
2) Riding on Jack
3) No showers

Warning: LOTS OF PICTURES
This horse kept coming in our camping grounds to roll over

Top of the world

Our tent made out of ponchos
We rode all over those mountains
We had to follow the trail that was marked like this

Getting ready to go

Mean Jack

Thief found something under the rock.
He had the time of his life!
Marissa took her dog also but we lost him on the first day...but then on our way back there he was on the trail waitin...

Future

P.S.
Next week the Hackings are going on an intense camping trip to the Ballies and I get to go. All I know is that my butt is going to be sore from riding horses for 4 days and that I'll be sleeping in a sleeping bag on the ground. Wish me luck!

P.S.S or P.P.S (I don't know which)
I have a little cut on my elbow and bruise on my knee from my tube crash.

fun in the sun...kinda

Last night Caden, DR, JD, me, James, and Taylor went boating. We were finally in the water around 7:15 pm at Steinaker. JD and I decided to go tubing first. We were having lots of fun, flying off , this and that. Except JD is almost DOUBLE me so we were awkward on the tube. He ended up centering himself on the tube laying on his stomache while I was on top of him (like doggystyle with girl on top haha) We got flying so fast when all of a sudden we hit a HUGE wave and I went flying. The wave flew me up in the air while I did a complete back bend! My whole right side of my body was aching! I swallowed so much water through my mouth and nose that I was nauseated for 30 minutes. The rest of the time I just watched everyone go. Today, my neck and back are pretty sore!
James and Taylor
JD and DR

Me (feeling bad for myself because I was so sick after the crash)
Oh my heck look how white my face is compared to my chest! haha can you tell I wear sunscreen everyday?

UFC

I love UFC! This past big fight was between Mir and Lesnar. Brock Lesnar is a freakin monster, He's so huge. I think he'd fit right in here in Vernal (he seems white trash! haha). I wanted to Mir to win but he didn't :(. Once Lesnar was on top of Mir, he knocked him out. Lesnar was pretty funny at the end of the fight, which later he apologized for.
The other fights were also entertaining!

craftiness 101

One man's trash is another man's treasure. I've been wanting to something like sophie's (click http://www.jaggedideal.blogspot.com for great ideas that are affordable and fun). Thanks Sophia for being so inspirational! I was so lucky to get both mirrors for $5 at a yard sale!
BEFORE

AFTER

I'm using them for my headboard for now. Thanks to JD for hanging them up for me and being an amazing HANDY-MAN. Now I just need a nice bedspread/comforter to tie everything in.

Parade

Here's some pictures of the 4th of July Parade. The drill team had an awesome performance!
