We're about to take off... Wheeeee!

We just got back from a trip to Colorado.  We live in Texas, so we flew to Denver, rented a car, and drove to Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park.  As we were about to take off for the flight home, I thought to myself, wouldn't it be more fun if the pilot said something like "And away we gooooooo," as he's about to put the wheels up.  Or maybe as we take off, he sang, "Up, up and away."  Or maybe as we're climbing in the sky, he could say, "Wheeeeee!"  What do you think?  I think it would be hilarious!  How about some vacation funnies?

What's Your Opinion?

Question for you today... Where do you stand on the custom of tipping housekeeping staff at a hotel?  Do you always leave a few dollars in the room when you check out?  Does it depend on the type of hotel/motel?  Does it depend how many days you were there?  Okay.  That was many questions.  I'm curious, though. Where do you stand on tipping hotel housekeeping staff.

That's all I got for today!

This totally cracked me up!

Awww.  So cute!

Tuesday Nonsense

Hey Tuesday Peeps!  I'm headed to Colorado today!  The weather will be all over the thermometer because there could be as much as a 30 degree difference among the places we are visiting.  We're looking to get away from the heat for a while.

One thing I'm really looking forward to is seeing the Stanley Hotel.  If you're unfamiliar, it's the Hotel that served as inspiration for Stephen King to write The Shining.  We also planning to go into Rocky Mountain National Park at least twice.  I hope I get to see some changing colors on the tree.  We don't get much of that here in Texas.  And I would love to see an elk... at a safe distance.  Wish me luck!

Whoops! I forgot again.

Have you ever... Nevermind.  I know you have.

The rest of the sentence... thought you did something and realize way after the fact that you didn't?

Yup.  Happens to me a lot!

I thought I posted some funnies last week, but I was wrong.  Oh, well.

Happiness and Randomness Overflowing

This post is really much ado about nothing (but has a small tie to school due to the definition included.)

Is your neighborhood about to get busy, like mine? School starts today!  I'm grateful I'm retired because that summer was too short, and the weather says  it's still summer and will be for a while.

You may know that I've been an avid crafter for as long as I can remember, and I follow a few different types of artists and crafters, many who sell their knowledge in a course, webinar, zoom call, prerecorded video (etc.).  But WHY does everyone think that if you call something an Academy, people will automatically think it is exclusive and better than a regular class?

Examples online :  The Crepe Paper Flower Academy,  The Better Life Academy, Learn (fill in the blank) Academy, Cutting Machine Academy, Organizer Academy,  Watercolor Painting Academy.

The definition of Academy is  a school that teaches a specific skill or subject, a private high school, or an official group of experts who work to advance art, science, or literature.  It is also  a place of study, a special school, or a group that helps arts and sciences grow.

So, is it  legit to call these courses Academies?  What do you think?

Unfortunately, this is what it's like in school now.  The bully doesn't get in trouble.

Have a great week!

Random Tuesday Nonsense and Happy Thoughts

Hey everyone.  We've been out and about a lot more recently, and I have noticed... at the risk of sounding like Maxine,  there are so many ta-tas hanging out!  Is it always like this?  Or is this a recent shift?  Ladies seem to be loving showing off their ta-tas.  A ta-ta here, a ta-ta there, Ta-Tas Everywhere!  Maybe because it is summer?  Perhaps it's been like this a while, and I'm just now noticing!  Maybe it's just my local area (doubtful).  Anyway, it is what it is.  Where has modesty gone?

How about something funny?

HAHAHAHA!

HAHAHAHA!

Hope you giggled at least once.  Remember to visit Stacy's Random Thoughts and Happy Tuesday.

Today while watching baseball, I heard this:  "Something is afoot. " You may know I love to figure out where idioms come from and what they mean.  So here goes...  I got a fairly boring response.  It means that an activity is in progress.  It also sometimes implies that something secret or surprising is happening behind the scenes. " Ahhhhh, something is afoot I see."  Imagine the voice I heard in my head as I typed it out!

The word afoot first appeared in the 13th century(around 1275) in Middle English texts, such as the writings of the poet Laȝamon. The famous phrase "the game is afoot" was first recorded later by William Shakespeare in his play King Henry IV, Part 1 around 1597. And that's about all there is to it!

Enjoy the funnies!
