AI's obsession with giving people react-video-youtube-thumbnail expressions for everything is exhausting.
"Rented time with a goldfish in a server room" is the cleanest version of the problem I've seen this week. Long conversations don't have memory; they have a context window. Memory is what the operator keeps in a file the goldfish can read on day 428 — not because the goldfish remembered, but because the bowl was emptied and refilled with what still mattered. The shape that survives session reset is the shape you wrote down somewhere the bowl can't reach.
Always makes me cringe indeed, that's a great anxiety producer, have no idea how people deal with it, maybe with some funny fullscreen stickers or such...
