Hello. You've reached the user page of another of the 54,959,459 registered contributors to Wikipedia (that may be a high number, but trust me: every good contribution I made is just as valuable as anyone else's). The reason of this page is to tell you a little about my editing habits, and show you some interesting things relating to what appears to be the world's most popular wiki.
I hope you like what you see! Oh, and by the way, I will NOT welcome vandalism. If I find out about it, it will be removed! (Assuming it had not been reverted anyway.)
If you need to inform me of something, just drop me a line. (I recommend starting a new section to keep new discussions separate from older, unrelated discussions.)
And remember:

My history here
[edit]I've been editing Wikipedia for over 21 years now, though I had been reading it for a few months beforehand. I first started editing as an unregistered user on September 6, 2005, with my first two edits being the additions of {{Infobox broadcast}} (forerunner to today's {{Infobox television station}}) to the WBPX and WUNI-TV articles (as they were titled at the time). After that, I returned on September 19 and started the article on WWDP (in those days, there was no Articles for Creation process, and unregistered users could still create articles in mainspace; just months later, the Wikipedia Seigenthaler biography incident brought that practice to an end); from there, I continued to create and edit articles on broadcast stations, especially TV stations, as well as a number of other topics. A few days later (on September 25, 2005) I registered my account (the first edits simply picked up where my IP edits left off), and since then I have done many more edits to articles related to broadcasting, as well as the occasional other topic (such as roads)–though as the years have gone by the non-broadcasting-related edits have all but dried up, and a substantial amount (but not all) of those that I do still make gravitate towards other media topics.
Many moons ago, I revamped several template series' into more uniform styles (for their series–this was back in the days before {{ambox}}, {{imbox}}, and {{cmbox}}), but for various reasons that isn't something I do anymore. Arguably the biggest lasting change in that realm–remarkably, coming within my first 50 surviving edits on this account–was, in late September 2005, bringing to what is now {{afd top}} the italics and other formatting that had taken shape at {{afd bottom}} starting that April. I did at the time raise the question of if it was a good idea–it had, seemingly unbeknownst to me at the time, been implemented there by DmitryKo (talk · contribs) (who was the one to do it on both templates and should be credited accordingly) in April as well, but was reverted at then-{{vfd top}}–and only there, not at then-{{vfd bottom}}–after two days, but seemingly more because of a horizontal line I made no attempt to bring back. Nobody ever objected, reverted, or even commented, ultimately all but finalizing the basic blueprint that nearly every archived wrapper ({{archive top}}, et.al.) has retained in some form 21 years later.
Helping to finalize the look of closed XfD discussions is not the only mark I've made there: I make the occasional comment–and even more than a few nominations–at those venues as well. My main presence there in recent years, though–particularly at AfD–is in deletion sorting and other gnomish-tasks like cleaning up malformed nominations.
Of course, when I'm aware of vandalism that hasn't been reverted, that's exactly what I do–I revert it. I have been also known to discover when an article is about something that isn't really true. Debunking a K07RE that was affiliated with five American television networks at once (and predated LPTV, the type of station it was purported to be, by some 20-25 years) as a hoax led to the first barnstar I received, a Barnstar of Diligence that was given to me by Firsfron (talk · contribs) on August 22, 2006. (K07RE did formerly exist as a relay of the Alaska Rural Communications Service, which did indeed carry programming from multiple major networks, but from a centralized facility and not at the local station itself, and itself relayed from stations in Anchorage.)
Other barnstars I've received have largely come from my other tasks: an Editor's Barnstar from Neutralhomer (talk · contribs) on December 4, 2011 (after updating numerous articles and templates to reflect the deletion of numerous Trinity Broadcasting Network translators from Federal Communications Commission records–very few of those edits remain visible, as many of those articles have themselves been deleted from Wikipedia); another Editor's Barnstar from Neutralhomer on September 20, 2014 (for updating numerous iHeartMedia station articles to reflect the name change from Clear Channel Communications; as you can infer, my WikiGnome tendencies are not, and never have been, confined to XfD); a Special Barnstar from Babysharkboss2 (talk · contribs) on October 20, 2023 (for no other reason than simply editing The Beach Boys, which had happened a few days earlier while cleaning up a subtle vandalism spree); a Teamwork Barnstar from WikiOriginal-9 (talk · contribs) on November 13, 2023 (as best I can tell, this was for my deletion sorting); an Original Barnstar from CoconutOctopus (talk · contribs) on December 24, 2023 (more definitely for my deletion sorting); a Tireless Contributor Barnstar from Liz (talk · contribs) on March 30, 2024 (also for deletion sorting, but also my AfD contributions in general); an Original Barnstar from Theroadislong (talk · contribs) on August 8, 2024 (deletion sorting); a Minor barnstar from I dream of horses (talk · contribs) on October 20, 2024 (deletion sorting, followed by another one on November 17 that was quickly retracted); a Brilliant Idea Barnstar from a now-vanished user on May 13, 2025 (no specific reason was given, and I couldn't piece it together); a Technician Barnstar from Timtrent (talk · contribs) on February 22, 2026 (deletion sorting); a Hard Worker's Barnstar from Spartaz (talk · contribs) on June 8, 2026 (for my recaps of past AfDs of renominated articles, and any longstanding article issue tags, that I tend to provide if the nominator did not); a Barnstar of Diligence from Quaerens-veritatem (talk · contribs) on June 19, 2026 (relatively general, but prompted by the temporary reversion of a premature AfD tag before the nomination page was created); and a Winnowing Fan Barnstar from Jolielover (talk · contribs) on July 5, 2026 (AfD contributions, but mostly deletion sorting).
All of this, in the 21 years I've had this account, has added up to well over 181,000 edits–good enough to rank 380th on the list of Wikipedians by number of edits as of October 4, 2026. That's just the edits that remain visible in page histories, at least per XTools; it's over 189,000 edits when factoring in since-deleted edits. The on-wiki calculations seen at the aforementioned list and elsewhere, which do seem to include deleted edits too but have their own quirks and acknowledged errors, put it somewhere in the middle–closer to 185,000. How active I've been has varied over the years; sometimes I'm quite active, sometimes I'm not. (On the other hand, I've had an editing streak–both in articles and the wiki as a whole–for three years running (and these rank in the top 15 in mainspace and top 50 sidewide); it's been a while since my last spell of complete inactivity.) Suffice it to say, I have no intention of stepping away by choice anytime soon.
And yes, even my userpage has seen vandalism, even though I'm not necessarily one of the more high-profile editors—an admittedly odd self-description of someone who edits at least one article every day and is omnipresent in many a delsort notice, though it may make more sense in the context of having only made 0.01% of Wikipedia's edits and editing 0.09% of the total pages. It's not something that happens too often, thank goodness, and in recent years the edit filters prevent virtually any such attempts (especially from newer users) from having any effect.

Note that the above has some quirks and limitations that may contradict statements and/or information elsewhere on this page at times. (Most significantly, its data that only covers the last 1,000 edits appears to significantly understate what it considers my longest editing streak.)

Fine print
[edit]I am not responsible for lost, stolen, or deleted articles, media files, categories, templates, redirects, pages of other types, prodded pages, or even speedied pages, though all of that is because I have no powers to delete under the deletion system. (I also take no responsibility for any deletion debate result questioning unless I otherwise feel differently. Also, deletion debates that I start or pages that I place either {{subst:prod}} or one of the speedy deletion tags do not count in above. In short, I just make it clear if a page should go.) If for some reason I decide to leave Wikipedia, anything that appears above this fine print is effectively null and void, and likely will be removed anyway. Any comments regarding anything I do on Wikipedia should not be left on this page, it should instead be directed to my talk page through that link. Features are generated either by dates or by any editing of the templates, either anyone or admins (but, barring some exceptions, not by any bot). If you are not visiting this page from Wikipedia, then you are at a Wikipedia mirror, and you should be aware that you are not viewing an encyclopedia article, that the page may be outdated, and that the user to whom this page belongs may have no personal affiliation with any site other than Wikipedia itself. Please direct yourself to the real thing at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Wcquidditch. This fine print will exist on this page until I decide to remove it, which could be if I depart or if I don't like it anymore. This concludes my user page. Thank you.
