Edit Zangfu

[edit]

Hi there, I just noticed that you reverted a redirect on the Zangfu page, as I am still learning the ropes around here can you please explain why, as there is a discussion on the talk page already and as the Zangfu is specific to traditional Chinese medicine it goes inline with other page's creating a wiki platform with congruency. Your advice and comment on this would be appreciated. Thanks Foristslow (talk) 23:25, 3 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Hi @Foristslow, and welcome to Wikipedia.
In general you don't add a parentheses to a title unless there's another one that should be at the base page - you can see some advice at WP:MISPLACED for more details. The second part was the specific name you had moved it to "Zangfu ( Chinese medicine)" with a space between the opening parentheses and the C in Chinese. There shouldn't be extraneous spaces in Wikipedia titles.
If you'd like some more advice editing I can recommend asking the friendly people at the teahouse. ScalarFactor (talk) 23:28, 3 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for your speedy reply, makes sense, a bit pointless when nothing else is called Zangfu. Got it. Tofu (.....) Foristslow (talk) 23:38, 3 October 2026 (UTC)Reply

Page moves redirects

[edit]

Hello, ScalarFactor,

Please, please leave a redirect when you move an article or you often end up with 28 broken redirect pages. I've created two new redirects from the old page title to the new page title so that these dozens of redirects wouldn't be deleted. At the very least, please check "What links here" before you move an article without leaving a redirect so you can manually change all of the redirects yourself. Thank you. Liz Read! Hi @Liz, sorry about this one - I didn't think it'd be relevant in this case since it was reverting an undiscussed move from earlier the same day. It looks like the bot that fixes double redirects had already acted on all of those, which I hadn't considered. Thanks for the heads up, I'll be sure to be more careful about that in the future. Hi ScalarFactor. Seccond Google result for me while looking at the "specturm" redirect was this PubMed Central hit, which is probably an OCR error or something like that... hence, plausible redirect. Cheers. --Shirt58 (talk) 🦘 01:13, 4 October 2026 (UTC)Reply
