About

Artist Bio

Gianna Brielle Perez, better known as Gigi Perez or simply Gigi, is a folk-rock singer-songwriter and guitarist from Florida, United states. Gigi’s lyrics tend to cover grieving, faith, and LGBTQ topics.

Inspired by her older sister, Gigi started making music in May of 2016, releasing her first song “White Noise – Demo” onto SoundCloud. In 2018, she played in the band Wendy Lane up until the group became inactive in late 2021.

In January, 2021, she posted a TikTok video of her playing “Sometimes (Backwood)” on her guitar. A day later, she published a video of her tribute song “Celene,” titled after her older sister who passed away in 2020. Both videos gained attention, opting her to release “Celene” onto Soundcloud the following day. “Sometimes (Backwood)” was released in February, amassing over 100 million plays on Spotify. She signed to Interscope Records, leading her to open for Coldplay in Tampa for Music of the Spheres World Tour and Noah Cyrus for The Hardest Part Tour.

In 2023, Gigi released her debut EP How To Catch A Falling Knife. Gigi later switched to being independent after she was dropped from Interscope Records. Being burnt out from the music industry, she taught herself how to record and produce music during the remainder of the year.

Gigi kept uploading snippets of her songwriting. However, it was not until April 2024, when she posted a video of “Sailor Song”, that she went viral. She quickly wrote verses for the song and released it in late July. The track succeeded after trending on TikTok, gaining over 200 million Spotify plays within three months. She followed up with the October single “Fable” and “Chemistry” in February 2025.

In the same month, Gigi revealed on VEVO DSCVR that she was working on a new album titled At the Beach, In Every Life, released on April 25, 2025.
