"Using a different architecture" tip needs updatingΒ #1669

Closed as duplicate

Description

@tangentsoft

This doc page references an obsolete image on Docker Hub. Changing the command to "distrobox create -i arm64v8/debian builder" doesn't help.

What worked for me was:

$ distrobox create \
    --image debian \
    --additional-flags \
    --platform=linux/aarch64 \
    debian-aarch64

The "enter" step appears to get stuck, but it's just being super-slow to install the "basic packages" through emulation.

    I will add, that for Arch, the required packages are: qemu-user-static and qemu-user-static-binfmt

    Thanks @tangentsoft for providing the above working command. It's working for me. However, whenever I enter the distrobox and try to run a command requiring privileged access, I get the following error:

    sudo: effective uid is not 0, is /usr/bin/sudo on a file system with the 'nosuid' option set or an NFS file system without root privileges?

    Do we need additional flags to the create command maybe?
