APA Style is the preferred citation style in the Business Program at SOU, and also in business more generally. What gets tricky is that APA Style was actually developed for psychologists writing, for the most part, research articles, so sometimes it can be tricky to figure out how to use APA Style to cite something you've found in your business research or business plan. The links on this page will help you figure out how to use APA Style effectively for business research papers and business plans. If you have any questions about citations, ask your librarian!
Numerous guides to APA style are available on the internet, and the library has print copies of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association available for consultation. You can also see examples and tips for APA-style citations for business sources by clicking on the link for the document below.
APA-style formatting is unique, but it has gotten simpler since the publication of the 7th edition of the Publication Manual. Hannon Library has a guide to Research Paper Basics that can help you with formatting, citations, and other APA-style concerns. The link below will take you to a guide created by Antioch University that also provides excellent formatting information.
