Our Story

About Luck Pond

For more than 120 years, this land—now known as Luck Pond Farm—has been a quiet fixture of Ontario’s rich agricultural heritage. Nestled in the heart of the Kawartha Lakes region, the property has gracefully evolved through generations, carrying with it stories of hard work, community, and the enduring beauty of the countryside.

Today, Luck Pond is proudly owned by the Kaya family, who have lovingly cared for the land while exploring everything from sheep farming to homesteading. Over the years, the Kaya family raised free-range chickens, grown corn and soybeans, and cultivated a deep connection with the rhythm of rural life.

But the real story began with the barn.

Our 120-year-old heritage barn, perched beside a serene spring-fed pond, quietly stood as the centerpiece of the farm. Friends and family would often visit, and time after time they would say the same thing:

"This place is magic. You need to share it."

After years of encouragement, we made the decision to restore and transform the barn into a luxury wedding and event venue, a place where others could feel the same peace, joy, and connection to nature that we’ve always felt here. The process was not without its challenges. It took nearly five years to meet the necessary municipal and provincial approvals, but every step was taken with care and intention.

Even before our official launch, the property quietly began its next chapter, hosting a few family weddings that felt nothing short of magical. The response was overwhelming, confirming what we already believed: Luck Pond was meant to be shared.

The name itself came naturally. Over the years, guests would sit by the pond, fishing, swimming, or simply relaxing, and comment on its effect.

“There’s something about this place”

Over time, we came to believe it too. People left feeling lighter, brighter, and more grounded than when they arrived. And so, we named it Luck Pond, in honor of the natural energy and quiet magic that flows here.

Today, Luck Pond Event Barn welcomes couples, families, and communities to celebrate life’s most meaningful moments. Set on 80 acres of rolling countryside, our private wedding estate offers the perfect balance of rustic charm and refined elegance.

More than just a venue, Luck Pond is a place to connect. To slow down. To gather with intention and create memories that last a lifetime.

We can’t wait to welcome you.
