Melissa A. Bishop, is the Consul General in Monterrey, Mexico. Prior to her current role, Melissa served as the Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Mission to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Her extensive career in the U.S. Foreign Service includes a recent role as Consular Chief at the U.S. Embassy in Hanoi.
Consul General (Hermosillo)
Drew Hoster arrived in Hermosillo in June 2025 to serve as the Consul General at the U.S. Consulate General. In this role, he oversees all consulate operations and leads efforts to strengthen the U.S.-Mexico relationship in Central-Southern Sonora and Sinaloa.

Mary Virginia Hantsch became the Principal Officer in Matamoros on August 8, 2025. She most recently served as the Consular Section Chief at U.S. Embassy Berlin, following a tour as a Management Analyst in the Bureau of Consular Affairs.

Lance Hegerle assumed the duties of Consul General at the U.S. Consulate General in Tijuana August 3, 2026. Consul General Hegerle will lead the diplomatic mission for the next three years, with jurisdiction over the states of Baja California and Baja California Sur.

Elizabeth Hoffman Franolich assumed duties as Consul General at the U.S. Consulate General in Guadalajara in August 2026. A career member of the Senior Foreign Service, she was the Acting Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in San Salvador from January 2025 until June 2026.
