Amateur musician and Wikipedia contributor
Eager to learn, improve and receive constructive feedback
About me
[change | change source]Hello! I am Bifmark. I am an AMATEUR Wikipedia contributor who is still learning. I welcome corrections, guidance and constructive feedback from more experienced editors.
I formerly studied toward a doctorate in acoustical physics, but left the programme before completing the degree. My academic background continues to shape my interest in sound, musical instruments and the physical principles behind music.
Music
[change | change source]I am an amateur player of several musical instruments:
I am particularly interested in how musical instruments are designed, constructed and played. I also enjoy learning about instruments from different cultures and the ways in which their physical structure affects their sound.
Interests
[change | change source]My interests include:
- Musical acoustics
- Experimental musical instruments
- Traditional and contemporary music
- Musical-instrument design
- The physics of sound
- The relationship between art and science
- Architecture, visual art and industrial design
I am especially interested in projects that bring artistic experimentation and scientific thinking together.
My work on Wikipedia
[change | change source]I mainly hope to improve articles about music, musical instruments, acoustics, artists, designers and architecture.
I am not an expert, and my edits may occasionally need correction or refinement. I try to use reliable sources, paraphrase information carefully and follow Wikipedia's neutral-point-of-view policy.
If you notice a problem with one of my edits, please feel free to correct it or explain the issue on my talk page. I appreciate advice from experienced editors and see every correction as an opportunity to learn.
I am here to learn.
Please assume good faith and let me know when I make a mistake.
