Ping is just too high
I still love this game but my 299 ping is just too high :(

Turns out having 350mb/s broadband and being in the UK still gives me a lower ping than I had with a 33kb modem back in 1998.

Do I need to relocate to another country or is there a better way to lower my ping?

Might have to check your computer's network settings, there might be default network card settings making the functionality worse for gaming. You can edit those through device manager, or you can use an app like TCP Optimizer.

I can't say if it'll make a huge difference, but it's possible. I'd also try to make sure you don't have a bunch of devices doing stuff on your network whenever possible. If it's wireless, think about hard-wiring it somehow with an ethernet cable. Ya know, stuff like that.

Might not be a bad idea to go to Google and ask their AI too, it's helped me with countless tech problems.
Yeah 300ms is pretty high assuming you're playing on American servers.

In case you're using cable internet, that's a shared medium AFAIK. Ping could go up if it's saturated, depending on the time of day. With DSL you might have a better ping.

You could try a trace route command to see where the ping starts going up. Open a command prompt and type: tracert 63.143.56.147 That's the current IP of the "1999TFC" server.
I play from Brazil in US servers and i get 130/140, i think you are playing from a higher distance, 300 might be normal depending what US region is the server located.

You can try some known gaming softwares to lower ping, just google for them, some are free.
