Lambert-Smith worked behind the starters and ended up logging 16 offensive snaps. Top RB Omarion Hampton started for the Chargers and played two series. Vidal followed and rushed for five yards on his first carry before taking a 1-yard loss on the next play. Njoku worked behind starter Charlie Kolar and ahead of Oronde Gadsden in the contest. Kolar worked as the Chargers' starting tight end Thursday, hauling in a nine-yard pass from Justin Herbert while playing five snaps (four on offense, one on special teams). Kolar, Oronde Gadsden and David Njoku are the top tight ends on the Chargers depth chart, but it's been Kolar who has been working more with the first-team offense during training camp. Hampton was on the field for the Chargers' first two offensive drives but did get a touch in Thursday's preseason finale. Chargers' Greg Desrosiers: Scores touchdown in preseason finale
Desrosiers turned nine carries into 118 yards and a touchdown while logging one catch (on two targets) for eight yards during the Chargers' 20-18 loss to the Rams in Thursday's preseason game. He added one kickoff return for 29 yards.
Desrosiers saw most of his playing time in the second half. He made an immediate impact in the running game with carries of 15 and 14 yards in the third quarter before adding a 33-yard rush and a 34-yard rushing touchdown in the fourth frame. Desrosiers was responsible for four of the Chargers' 10 longest plays in Thursday's game and will finish the preseason with 23 carries for 166 yards (7.2 YPC) and a touchdown over three games. He probably won't make the team's 53-man roster by the end of training camp, but Desrosiers may have shown enough to stick around in Los Angeles as a member of the Chargers' practice squad.

Chargers' Cameron Dicker: Working through injury
Dicker is "working through something," but head coach Jim Harbaugh is not concerned about his status, according to Alex Insdorf of BoltBeat.com.
Dicker went 1-of-2 on field goals and made his lone extra-point attempt in Thursday's preseason finale, but he apparently was not 100 percent during the game, with Harbaugh noting punter JK Scott would have attempted a field goal at the end of the game had an opportunity arose. Dicker's status is left uncertain for the time being, but as things stand it appears more likely than not he will be ready for what could be a high-scoring Week 1 matchup with the Cardinals.

Chargers' Quentin Johnston: Hauls in long TD in preseason loss
Johnston (lower body) brought in one of two targets for a 65-yard touchdown in the Chargers' 20-18 preseason loss to the Rams on Thursday.
The speedy fourth-year pro recently missed some practice time due to a lower-body injury he suffered during a joint practice with the 49ers leading up to Los Angeles' second preseason game, yet Johnston looked at full health when blowing past the Rams' secondary for a 65-yard touchdown with just under 10 minutes remaining in the first quarter. Thursday's snaps were Johnston's only action this preseason, but he looks prepared to reprise the No. 2 receiver role that's netted over 700 receiving yards in each of the last two seasons beginning with a Week 1 home matchup against the Cardinals.

Chargers' Justin Herbert: Stellar in cameo Thursday
Herbert completed two of three passes for 74 yards and a touchdown, rushed once for no gain and lost a fumble in the Chargers' 20-18 preseason loss to the Rams on Thursday.
Herbert drew the start and completed a nine-yard pass to Charlie Kolar on the Chargers' first play from scrimmage before losing a fumble on his next snap.
