Biography:

Benoît Sokal was a Belgian comic artist and video game developer. Sokal studied at the École Supérieure des Arts Saint-Luc in Brussels, together with many contemporary Belgian comic artists like François Schuiten (b. 1956). He began drawing for À Suivre magazine in 1978. He created the Inspector Canardo series, featuring a depressed anthropomorphic duck.

Later he joined the software developer Microïds and is well known for design on the adventure games series Syberia. He then founded his own game company, White Birds Productions, where he created the adventure game Paradise published through Ubisoft.

After 2008, he returned to comics with Kraa and Aquarica, the latter together with his friend François Schuiten (b. 1956), while still working on video games.
