Alexander Tratsevskiy has announced the release of Calculate Linux 17.12, a set of desktop and server distributions based on Gentoo Linux. This release is comes in four desktop flavours, with KDE Plasma 5.10.5, Cinnamon 3.4.6, MATE 1.18.0 and Xfce 4.12.3: "On the New Year's eve, meet Calculate Linux 17.12! This latest release features installation on software RAID and offers still better load and memory balance. Main changes: added SoftRaid support; fixed auto-partitioning problems; third-party overlays supported; the Calculate Utilities server does not run on the background, it is launched by D-Bus; the MuQSS patch was included to the kernel configuration for better application task scheduling; the UKSM patch was included in the kernel configuration for less memory load; PAE binary kernel supported for 32-bit systems; all server kernel settings optimized; GCC updated to 6.4 and the kernel updated to v 4.14...." | Calculate Linux is a Gentoo-based family of three distinguished distributions. Calculate Directory Server (CDS) is a solution that supports Windows and Linux clients via LDAP + SAMBA, providing proxy, mail and Jabbers servers with streamlined user management. Calculate Linux Desktop (CLD) is a workstation and client distribution (with a choice of Cinnamon, KDE Plasma, LXQt, MATE or Xfce desktops) that includes a wizard to configure a connection to Calculate Directory Server. Calculate Linux Scratch (CLS) is a live CD with a build framework for creating a custom distribution.

Alexander Tratsevskiy has announced the release of Calculate Linux 23, a major new version of the project's Gentoo-based, rolling-release distribution available in KDE Plasma, Cinnamon, LXQt, MATE and Xfce flavours: "We are pleased to announce the release of Calculate Linux 23. This new (year) version includes a server Calculate Container Manager for working with LXC, a new cl-lxc tool, and it features mirror selection for updates. Main changes: all desktop environments have been updated, namely KDE Plasma 5.25.5, Xfce 4.18, MATE 1.26.0, Cinnamon 5.6.5 and LXQt 1.2; we launched a new server flavour, Calculate Container Manager, for running LXC containers; a new tool, cl-lxc, has been added - it allows creating and updating Calculate Linux containers; the cl-update tool now features mirror selection for binary packages; an availability test has been added for Git repositories...." Distribution Release: Calculate Linux 22 |

Calculate Linux is a Gentoo-based distribution with several desktop editions, a cloud and a server edition. The project has published a new version, Calculate 22: "We are pleased to announce the release of Calculate Linux 22. With this new version, you will be able to smoothly update your system after a long period of time. We also ported the Calculate Utilities to Python 3, and set PipeWire as the default sound server. Calculate Linux Desktop featuring the KDE (CLD), Cinnamon (CLDC), LXQt (CLDL), Mate (CLDM) or Xfce (CLDX and CLDXS) desktop, Calculate Directory Server (CDS), Calculate Linux Scratch (CLS) and Calculate Scratch Server (CSS) are now available for download. Changes: added support for long intervals between systems updates - now you can upgrade whenever you want, even if you have not updated your system for a long time; the latest Calculate Utils 3.7 have been fully transitioned to Python 3 and Python 2.7 has been removed from the distribution image; PulseAudio audio has been replaced by PipeWire, you can still select ALSA if this is what you prefer; added Bluetooth support for ALSA."
