Name:
In honour of Alberto Pelloux (1 December 1868, Crema, Italy - 23 February 1948, Bordighera, Italy), Professor of Mineralogy and Petrology at the University of Genoa, curator of the Mineralogical Museum of Genoa University, and Director of the Mineralogy and Geology Department of the Giacomo Doria Museum of Natural History. He described several new species and did significant work in Libya, Albania and Sardinia. His collection is now preserved at the Mineralogical Museum of the
”Dipartimento geomineralogico” of Bari University.
