Broken Camera

I'm sure all of you are upset about the lack of photos but as you can see from the title our camera is not working! We are very disappointed as well and my only hope is that we will be able to get a new one come tax return season this year. So a quick update. We went to Denver for Thanksgiving and had a great time.... thanks Grammy and Gramps! It was really fun to see Beckett with all of his cousins on that side. Beckett is still getting into everything and lately he loves clapping and clicking his tongue at the top of his mouth. He will clap on command when I start saying "clap clap", it's very cute! We will be celebrating Christmas in Florida this year with my mom so we opened Christmas presents this last saturday. Beckett actually opened a few by himself but I think he really just wanted the paper. Of all the fabulous presents he got his favorite right now is this little yellow ball that has a smiley face on it and makes noise when you shake it and this cool remote. Otherwise he loves to play with everything he's not supposed to(ie. things on bookshelf, candles, DVD's, tv remote, anything he can get his little hands on)!

Dan will finish his finals today! He's been working really had this semester with almost 17 credits and we're so proud of him! Yay dad!

My family has some exciting news.... two more boy cousins to play with! My sister Mindy is due towards the end of april and my brother Todd's wife, Onjali, is due the beginning of May. My other sister in law Rochelle, Trevor's wife, had a little boy in September so that is 4 boys in a row! We are so excited for all the boy cousins to get together and play!

We hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and know that we are wishing you the best! Happy Holidays!

Our Little Terror

Our little boy is so grown up! Right after my last post he started for real crawling and I'm wishing we could go back to me putting him somewhere and a few minutes later he is still there. Beckett is a big hair puller! I noticed this right away, thus the 8 inches cut off my hair. He will pull anyone's hair he can get his hands on inlcuding but not limited to: Dad, Mom, Small Children, Dogs, and even his own hair once or twice. He made a little boy cry at church on sunday by crawling over to him, getting right in his face, and grabbing his hair. Luckily he didn't get his normal death grip otherwise I think we would have heard screams! We went to visit my dad and step mom in Twin falls idaho and Beckett loved their dog! He would watch it where ever it went and then try to follow it. The dog learned about beckett and his ways immediately and would get up and move whenever he saw Beckett coming his way. Our little boy is walking around whatever he can get a good grip on. The only problem is he gets a little to ambitious and will sometimes knock himself over. We have heard many a scream from this and also the fact that we have 1/4'' thick carpet over cement with no carpet pad. (we understand why it hurts!) Nothing is safe in our house so I'm just getting used to all of my stuff with slobber on it. Beckett's 4th tooth broke through last night(top middle two are now in) and it looks like numbers 5 and 6 aren't too far behind. Yesterday he bit my arm and left a red mark there for at least a half an hour... what a little angel! :)

Even with him getting into everything, biting us, pulling our hair, slapping our faces or whatever else his little hands can get to, pinching, etc.... we're still crazy about our little guy and wouldn't trade him for any baby in the world!

Crawling???

Beckett can really get around and it is driving Mom CRAZY!!! I'm not sure if you'd call it crawling yet because he is on his hands and knees but his right foot isn't all they way pulled back (kind of sits in front of his left knee) and he drags it as he "crawls". Crawling or not he is not having a hard time getting what he wants... and fast. His new fascination is the books on the bookshelf. He loves to pull them off and eat them. His favorite is "what to expect when you're expecting". Maybe he's just trying to say he wants a little brother? So the baby proofing officially needs to be done. We don't have too much out that he can't play with but we need to change things because after he "crawls" to where he wants to go he pulls himself up and walks over to what he wants holding on to whatever he pulled himself up on. Nap time is more of a difficulty because we used to be able to stick him in a corner with a pillow in front of him and eventually he'd fall asleep. Now it just gets quiet in there and we peek in and he's either sitting up playing with the bumper pad or standing up walking around the edge with a big grin on his face! Needless to say the crib is once again getting lowered today. We got video of his crawling business and as soon as I can figure out how to put it on here we will!

Beckett's after church "chill" stance.

Cutest Winnie the Pooh I've EVER seen! (thanks grammy and gramps!)

This last one is for Spencer... you know why!

Growing Boy

I can't believe how big our little boy is. I haven't updated for a while so here's what he's been up to. For the past two months he says "mama", "baba", and shakes his head no(lots of this one!) He's been pulling to a stand for about a month and walks around things (like the bathroom toilet) He scoots around on his tummy and bum, sometimes gets in crawling position but not crawling yet and mom is just fine with this! He is soo good at getting what he wants already I can hardly imagine what it will be like when he crawls. He occasionally waves goodbye. He likes to hit everything including mom and dad and other small children. He is good at eating his solids (including green beans, thats right granges, he loves them) and he's also very regular on the back end. (it's 2pm and I've already changed 4 diapers because of the stinkiness!) He seems to have a favorite place to relieve himself, his highchair, which we like to call his throne. (don't worry, spencer I'm trying to get a pic just for you) Lots of other stuff but needless to say our little boy is not so little anymore!

Happy Birthday to all our October/end of september b-days! Dixie(Grammy), Judy(Grandma), Aunt Teri, Uncle Spencer, Grandpa Chuck! We love you guys!

TEETH... that's right, TWO!

So Beckett started to get really fussy last Thursday and it continued throughout the weekend. For those of you that know Beckett, you know this isn't normal. I don't know how we missed it but is first tooth must have popped up sometime around thursday or friday and we just thought it was the middle part of his gums on the bottom until we actually looked at it and realized he had a tooth! His second tooth popped up today right next to it. He also had shots yesterday so I feel really bad for my little guy but he is being such a trooper today! I can't get a good pic of them yet because he keeps his tounge over them all the time. Pics will come though!

Good Bye Denver!

After a wonderful summer here in Denver we must finally say goodbye... for now that is! We will miss Grammy and Gramps sooo much! Thanks for your wonderful hospitality and free rent all summer. :) We love you guys!
We have enjoyed being able to see some new scenery and I've loved getting to know Dan's family better. We know Beckett will be so sad when he realizes that he no longer has 4 adults to meet all of his demands and wishes.
Beckett has started on solids... mainly eating the spoon if you can count that. I keep trying to get him to eat his cereal but he somehow knows that it is not milk. Any ideas on how to trick him? Tonight I tried to spoon feed him milk in order for him to see its food but he did not fall for it... just got mad. It's only been a few days and he does eat it sometimes so we will just have to wait and see.
This is the water feature Dan made for his parents this summer. I was so proud of him since he had never done anything like this and it turned out Fabulously! Grandma Dixie (aka Grammy) picked all the plants around it, what a good job guys! Also this is a good pic to see how short my hair is. She cut off about 8 inches in the back. It's taken some getting used to and some definite wasting of shampoo but I love it! Beckett isn't pulling out as much of it either so that is a definite plus.
I love this pic of him. He's 6 months now. (this was at 5 months I think) He is so fun. I'm sure this is just friends trying to make us feel better but all of our friends tell us they would have babies if they were as good as Beckett.... I'm a mom so of course I eat it up. He really is the best baby in the World. (of course that isn't biased now is it?:) )
TADA! Here is my new cut. Hope you like it. If not, don't say anything! :)

Little Elf

I'm sure most of you are looking at this right now and thinking "Don't they know Christmas is over?". Well we do... and yet we still dress up our child in Christmas outfits! In December this outfit was given to me and while very cute and nice of this person, I did wonder if they remembered that I was due in February... 2 months after Christmas. This being a 0-3 month outfit and Beckett already growing out of some of this size I figured today was the perfect day for him to model it.
His dad came home and gave me that scowling look like "what have you put our child in today?"

Picture below is an update of the hair growing in. Slowly but surely.

Our little Costanza

So as you can see in previous pictures our little boy was born with a full, maybe thinning, head of hair. Notice Pictures below. He seems to have lost the hair on the top of his head. Not on the sides nor the back, just the top. Male pattern baldness and acne at the same time. Dan likes to say he is going through Puberty and Middle Age now instead of later. He also likes to call him our little Costanza in reference to George from Seinfeld. We still think he is as cute as ever but I am very happy to see about 1.5 mm of hair growing in on his bald spot. (try a magnifying glass... maybe you will believe me :) )

He also seems to have figured out how to suck his thumb. He's still not super coordinated so I often find him trying to get his thumb in his mouth but instead has a fist because he is pinching his thumb between his pointer finger and middle finger... doesn't quite work out like he wants it too.

Such a happy baby!

This one is for Grandma Judy... see, we do tummy time!

"Baby's First Easter"... and Random

As with all mom's in the past I must continue the tradition and try to dress my child up in embarrassing outfits so I can show my friends, family and future girlfriends how cute he is/was. Notice picture below. Dad tried to talk me out of this one but I could not resist the "baby's first easter" hat. I think it turned out pretty well!

Beckett in his cute little tub after a HUGE blow out!

My boys napping on the couch while I made dinner. I just couldn't help but want some pictures to capture it.

We hope you had a fabulous Easter!

Cousins

Dan had a few interviews for a summer internship in Denver so Beckett and I decided to tag along. It was really fun and Beckett got to meet his cousin Isabel for the first time. Isabel is 13 days older than Beckett but he feels so big compared to her! We had to practice our embarrassing photos that are sure to come... as you can see here!

If you notice he has his arm around her... very cute.

Beckett's First Doctor's Visit!

Beckett had his 5 day check up last week and he's already gained 5oz. He didn't really like the being naked part or the stethoscope but otherwise it went pretty well.

Grandparents

We had the opportunity to have the Grandparents come and visit last week. My mom (Judy) stayed with us for a week to help with the new arrival. We were definitely sad to see her go. Grandma and Grandpa Grange came too and babysat while mom and dad went out to dinner! Beckett loves all of his grandparents and can't wait to see them again soon!

the kid is here

Sorry for the delay in posting some pictures of the new baby. For those of you who don't know already, this is Beckett Ross Grange. He was born on February 21st at 1:12 p.m. Following Grange boy tradition, he was 9 lbs, 3 oz and 21.5 in long. Anne and I are both surprised at how quickly we have fallen for this kid. I've never been a huge fan of babies, but I can't stop staring at him. I'm starting to understand why so many parents tell boring stories about their kids because everything Beckett does is pretty intriguing to me. I'm sure we will have plenty more pictures on the way, but here are a few of our favorites.

This is Annie, pre-labor

Anne was induced at 8:30, started the hard pushing at 12:20 and Beckett was here soon after 1. This is oversimplified and I hope Anne will elaborate later, but you get the idea.

Beckett with Grandma Judy, with his Mommy, a rare shot with his eyes open and Annie's hospital jewelry.

inducement...or is it induction?

This is the male component of "Anne n' Dan" writing a post for the first time. I'm a blogger. Do I get a free tee shirt? Anyway, Annie is going to the hospital to be induced tomorrow. They haven't told us what time. Apparently they will call us at 6 am to tell us when to come. We are pretty excited, especially Anne. Her stomach has dropped so far that she kind of has to swing her legs around it. When her mom told her she has a slight waddle Anne responded with "You try and walk with a baby between your legs!" I told Anne that if this induction means a baby weighing less than 8 pounds I will be a little upset. We'll be ostracized at family functions! We'll have to listen to that skinny punk Spencer brag about his chubby babies. I'm really happy to see this kid but I wonder if the hospital is actually going to let me take a kid home. More to come shortly.

This little thing called pregnancy.

I know everyone loves pictures but I just don't think I can take it anymore! We have 6 days till our official due date and still no baby. Not that I thought he would be here by now but you can't help but get your hopes up when you find out that you are through the first phase of the first stage of labor already and then nothing happens. Not to mention everyone wants to know if you've had the baby yet! I know it's exciting and everything but at this point I am just ready to have this baby out of me! I want my own space back! Enough complaining... the good news is that everything is looking good. I'm dilated to a 3, at a -1 station (meaning he's almost to the birth canal), and 80% effaced. Some other key things have happened but I don't think everyone wants to know everything! I asked the doctor if I would be ok for a voluntary inducement and he said yes, if I make it to my appointment on wednesday than we will most likely be scheduling a date! He didn't seem to think I'd make it but we will see. If this baby has his way we may go into March. So don't expect anymore pregnancy pictures... the next pictures posted will most likely be of baby boy grange, that is when he decides to come!
