Favorite movie

I added two movies to my favorite movies list in my profile. Last night we watched "So I Married an Axe Murderer" If you haven't seen it in a while, you really should see it again. Not only was I laughing hysterically for the duration of the film, but I kept having flashbacks of good times with my friends from when I was in high school and my first few years in college. Mike Meyers kept saying all these funny things that everyone used to say all the time after the movie came out. I don't think you realize how influential that movie was until you watch it again, especially if it is the first time in 15 years. AND it has the best music, it totally took me back.
My other new favorite movie is Dan in Real Life. I loved it I watched it like 3 times in 3 days and didn't want to return it. It had great music too.

More Cute Photos

Jacob risking getting hit in the head to help Annika take a swing at the rainbow pinata. (I know it is not in rainbow order, but I was making it at 11pm without planning ahead and decided to just use the colors we had instead of postponing it to go buy the right color of streamers.)
I finally figured out how to get my kids to smile all at the same time. I get really goofy. I don't know if I could do it in public, but it sure worked at home. You can see the cushions that I just re-apolstered and the cute outfit that Grandma Lori sent for Dallin's birthday.
Adriana just turned 5 and had a rainbow birthday party. It was lots of fun, and I tried not to stress too much. (big thanks to Emily and Jacob the best people to invite to kids' parties, I don't know what I am going to do without them)
Adriana in a turtle shell at the zoo.
Annika on a caterpillar (what do they feed them?)
Ariel and Annika by the monkey bars.
My crew of gorillas.

Maybe I'll write something tomorrow, but now I am off to an evening of laundry folding and movie watching.

Be prepared

Last night we were reading in Alma 12 when we got to the part about how this life is a time to prepare to meet God, then Ariel said, "Like when you buy a coffin you are preparing to die."
Then I say,"Yeah," surprised that she was actually listening and trying to figure out the jump in logic, "And what did the verse say we are supposed to do to prepare to meet God?"
Ariel, "Olivia says that it is always good to be prepared." (you know, Olivia, the pig)
"Yes, she does," I am happily surprised at the insight and chuckle a little. In her own 7- year-old world she was totally making connections with the text. Emily, what is that called?

Check out this documentary that we saw at Stake Conference yesterday about family scripture study. The idea was that it is the consistency not the quality that yields long term effects. It is called "Fit for the Kingdom"

Pictures from the zoo, and dance, and cool hairdo, and Dallin's tent

Warning: this post has a lot of pictures in it. I have been trying to take more pictures lately, and with kids as cute as mine how could I not just post a bunch of them, they are all in the wrong order, sorry, I have some issues with the user-friendliness of Blogger but instead of spending more time getting them in the right order, I 'm just going to leave them and hope it doesn't cause too much suffering.Adriana at the fountain in front of the Hogle Zoo.
Ariel (in black) at her last dance class of the season. I don't know who the other girl is and hope her parents don't mind her picture being published on my blog.
Beautiful Annika
And her beautiful hairdo. She actually sits still and lets me relive my sixth grade sleepover hair creations.
Dallin and the tent he got for his birthday. Notice the new carpet, not that shocking blue anymore.
Annika peeking out of said tent. It is like a garage and I found it on the clearance isle at ToysRUs (my favorite birthday party gift finding place) I bought it months ago for like $2.88 or something and didn't realize how huge it was until Dallin's birthday. He loves running in and out of it playing peek-a-boo and even figured out how to enter through the window.

Adriana posing at dance class. i can't believe how big she is getting.
One of the very rare smiles caught on camera from Dallin. He smiles all day long, but usually looks down when I am ready to shoot. This time I actually tickled him to get a good smile at the camera.
My long lost friend Andrea and I took our kids to the zoo and this was the best picture I got of the whole crew.

Another rare smile.
