Why Santa?

Why couldn't Santa just bring the boys an iphone? Thats all they really wanted! :)

Made By Hand

The Burton Family has started a tradition of only giving handmade gifts for Christmas. It always stressed me out, I worry for months about what to do!!! This year I was trying to think of something that you could actually use and thought of an address book. I know everyone has awesome phones and stuff, but I still like to have mine in a book besides. So I came up with this idea. I think it turned out cute, I wanted to blog it so I can remember how I did it. Of course now I want one!!!

Christmas Time

The boys woke up at 7:30 A.M. which was pretty good, I can't really complain about that. Bentley was sooo excited to see what Santa brought and Hamilton sort of looked at us wondering what all the fuss was about. Bentley ran strait out and couldn't believe all the presents, he started right away opening one. And finding them all over the room. Santa brought us the Kinect so that was set up and ready to go, Bentley about died! He also found a race track set up in the corner. Hamilton just looked around and then saw a little take and play Thomas track set up and ran over and started playing with that. He was more interested in watching Bentley. Thankfully Bentley didn't say anything about "the motorcycle" that Santa was supposedly bringing no matter what I had to say about it ;) We dodged a bullet for now. I do think the boys were pretty happy with what they got. I even got a game for the Kinect so we pretty much did that all day and night. My Mom and Barry came over that night to have dinner and give the boys their presents. I love hangin in my jammies eating a yummy breakfast watching the parade and just watching the boys play and be happy all day. It was a really nice relaxing Christmas and we enjoyed just playing with the kids and being together.

The Night Before Christmas

Christmas Eve was a nice relaxing day. Then for dinner we headed downtown to The Grand America Hotel for dinner. All through December they have this window thing going on. It takes you all through the hotel and you look at these different windows they have all decorated for Christmas. Once you've seen all the windows and written down the answers then you turn it in for a cookie at the end. So the boys had a good time doing that and then we had a yummy dinner. The boys thought it was so fun and they were so well behaved! Both of them loved the choc. fountain the best I think! Then we headed home opened our Christmas Eve jammies and tried to get the boys to bed early. Hamilton was in bed at 9:00 P.M. Bentley had sooo much energy was wide awake and it was a constant battle to finally get him to bed at 11:30 P.M. Yikes, I was tired!

Party Day!

On Thursday Bentz had his Christmas party at school. His teacher is so cute, she dressed up in railroad overalls and had a train whistle the kids wore their pjs to school and when we got there she had it all set up to watch The Polar Express. All the kids in his class looked so cute in their pjs and they had so much fun!
Heres Bentley with his friends Eli and Wesley.

Thursday night Ryan and I went to his Christmas office party. This year was a little different from the other years. The party was at the Alpine Country Club, everyone got all dressed up and we had a fancy dinner. Santa even came and all the women had to sit on his lap and then he gave us a box from Tiffany's! Everyone got a crystal jewelry box from Tiffany's & Co. So that was pretty cool, I can't bring myself to throw away the box it came in. There was also dancing, which was super entertaining. Totally loved it! It was so fun watching everyone get down on the dance floor. It was a pretty fun night, it kinda fun to get all dressed up and go out, it doesn't happen very often for me.

Christmas Program

Friday Bentley had a Christmas program at school. It was my first experience at the big Elementary. I couldn't believe how early people were there saving seats. It was crazy! But I got a good seat, right in front of Bentz! Of course he was nervous about it, he hates being in front of people. So he just stood there and chewed his shirt, but thats ok, thats Bentley! I was just proud of him for standing up there with his class and he even smiled for my picture. What a cute little bum he is! Love him! Thats his cute buddy Wes, I LOVE that they are in class together, they are just best buds!

Santas Reindeer

Bentley has been so much fun this year. He is so excited for Christmas and totally gets it! So we took the boys down to Thanksgiving Point and had dinner. Then we fed Santa's Reindeer and drove through the lights. Bentley wanted to stay and watch the reindeer fly back to Santa. Hamilton loved the lights this year, he was full of wow, yeah and clapping, it was the cutest thing!

You Know You're An Old Married Couple When....

On your 7 yr anniversary you haul the kids out to dinner. Then try... try... to get some shopping done. What a night! We had chocolate cake for dessert, so A. the kids were hopped up on sugar. B. Hamilton pooped the min. we walked into the mall and we didn't have diapers or wipes. We were already there so I said I would hurry fast!!! I'm use to that, everything I have to do since I've had kids has to be fast! The kids are running around like crazy people not listening, of course. Then as I'm checking out I hear screaming coming from the middle of the mall and Bentley comes running in to say... "Hamiltons bleeding, hes bleeding everywhere!!!" then runs off. So I come out of the store to Ryan standing there holding him, turns him around and theres blood all over Hamiltons face and hands and Ryan has blood all over his shirt. Luckily it wasn't anything too serious. He had face planted it on the floor and his tooth went in his lip. So we head into Nordstrom to the bathroom with us all bloody, crying and stinky! Of course there wasn't one women in there changing a diaper, so we couldn't borrow one. So we  made ourselves somewhat presentable and headed to our one last stop. I just love trying to think about what dress im going to buy and wear to an office Christmas party and I have about 10 min. to do it, two kids screaming, fighting, running and stinkin up the entire place! What a night, we were pooped! And poor Hammie we got home and his lip was swollen all up and his eyes were swollen, poor little guy. That's quite the Anniversary outing, if I do say so myself :)

Babbie

While I was down in St. George I took my niece Abbies pictures. She really wanted some of her and her dog for Christmas cards. I think we got some really cute ones. And it totally helps having such a beautiful perfect girl to photograph!

Best Toy Ever

So my boys got these yesterday from the mall. I figured after 2 min. they would be bored or they would be lost. Turns out these little things rock! My boys played with them for hours, all night long I didn't hear a peep out of them. And today there still totally into it! My boys never sit down and play with anything longer than a few min. and these things kept there attention for hours, amazing! So worth the $11.00, so worth it!!!

Aloha

Ryan and I have been planning to go to Hawaii for a very long time. Kept talking about it but doing nothing. Then finally decided to go and booked it about 3 weeks out! It was absolutely perfect. We spent a fabulous 6 nights in Maui, ahh such a relaxing wonderful vacation and very much needed! I cried the whole night before we left, I knew I was gonna miss the boys so much. And it was hard the first few days, but pretty soon I was having a great time and knew they were in good hands. We went to a Luau, went kayaking, had a fancy dinner at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, snorkeled, shopped, went to the ocean center and layed by the pool. How does it get any better? The weather was perfect, totally! There was only one day where it was cloudy and windy. Other than that it was warm and sunny! I was as close as it gets to the mall, what more could I want? The food was sooo yummy, I'm already missing it. And I love love love to just sit in the sun and have a strawberry smoothie. It was the greatest thing ever to just sit and relax. To get a full nights sleep and to actually enjoy a meal. But boy was I happy to come home and see my babies!! I missed them so much and I'm so proud of them, they got along just great without me.
How could you not want to lay and look at this everyday? :)
