Time to catch up!

I am so far behind on blogging. I have some good reasons! First of all, my computer crashed again taking all my pictures with it. Also, I am using Toby's computer and it has to stay at the desk in order for me to blog (long story). Therefore, with two girls it has been impossible for me to take a couple of minutes to myself and blog. Not to mention life is flying by to fast and I can't seem to catch up. So enough excuses. I have finally changed the background on my blog and now I am ready to catch up! Here I go......

Great Wolf Lodge at Christmas

This year one of the gifts from Santa Clause was Great Wolf Lodge. We were all on our way to run some errands and Santa called Toby on his phone and gave us directions to a place for us to go. Alexandra thought it was directions to the North Pole and of course Avery said the same thing. So we followed the directions Santa gave us and it lead us to Great Wolf Lodge. Alexandra was soooo very excited!!!! Avery didn't know what to think(she was less than a year old last time she went). So we checked in and then headed to our room! Santa was so generous he gave us a room that had a wolf den in it with bunk beds for the girls. He also left a note and stickers! He said this gift was too big to fit under the Christmas tree. He was so proud of the girls that he wanted them to enjoy a night at The Great Wolf Lodge! Once the girls played on the bunk beds for a bit we all got ready and headed to the water park. I did not dare take my camera since we had both girls. Avery was so excited in the water that I was always running after her making sure she was not going to stay under the water long if she fell. Alexandra spent the first day with daddy and Avery spent the first day with mommy. WE all had such a wonderful time! Once the girls had enough water we went and ate dinner at Whataburger. Then it was time to go back to Great Wolf Lodge for the evening festivites. Snow falling in the Lodge and storytime. After the girls got to see the snow, they were ready for bed! The next morning we got up and did it all over again! What a wonderful way to start the CHRISTmas!

Home for the holidays

The week at Alexandra's school before the Christmas break was so crazy! Alexandra's class had a different thing to do each day for example slipper day, pajama day, crazy sock day, and I just realized I only got a picture of pj day! She had her class holiday party Thursday ( I forgot my camera). The Friday before the break the school had a Jingle Bell Run to raise money for diabetes. So Avery and I went to the school to join Alexandra on her run. It was a fun week for Alexandra and made the week go by so much faster. I look forward to having her all to ourselves during the break!! We can't wait to spend lots of time with family and friends!!!

My very good friend Sarah and I ran the Whiterock1/2 marathon in Dallas December 5th. It all started back in June when she asked me to start running with her. I laughed and said "I am not a runner I am a speed walker". She said "just try it, you will get addicted". Well, I did and she was right I LOVE running! Who would have thought. We began training in July and started running 15 minutes a day and then added to that each week. She is a wonderful trainer! We started out running 3 times a week and the closer it got to the big event we ran 6 times a week with early Sunday morning being our long runs. It really worked out well and was hard at times but we pushed through it and did a fantastic job at the 1/2 marathon. We enjoyed it so much we are trying to figure out when to do a full marathon! Call us crazy but it was an amazing experience I would highly recommend it to anyone, runner or not! We made some great memories during training and plan on making many more during our full marathon training.

New Thanksgiving Tradition

This year I started a new Thanksgiving tradition for my family. I ran in the 43rd Annual Turkey Trot in Dallas with a very good friend of mine. It was a fun experience! There were 30,000 runners/walkers who registered for this huge event. It was crazy madness but so much fun. Sara and I did very very well. We beat our own time by 8 minutes. It was chilly and the temperature kept dropping as we were running. Toby can't wait to run it with us next year! After the Turkey Trot, we went to Caddo to spend the rest of the day with family. What a wonderful day!!

Watch D.O.G.S

Grace Hartman Elemtary has a program called Watch D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Studnets). Toby went school the entire day with Alexandra. She was so excited! Alexandra got to stay with him and help with drop off. Then they headed to the media room. Toby got to be on morning announcements with Alexadnra by his side. He had a schedule to follow all day. He monitored the lunch room and the school grounds. He was exhausted by the time he got home. Alexandra can't wait for him to go back and be a watchdog again.

50's Sock Hop

Tuesday Kindergarten celebrated their 50th day of school with a Sock Hop! I can't believe how fast the time has flown by. She had such a great time! They began their celebration with a rootbeer float and some sweets. Then they went to the cafeteria to have a Sock Hop! They danced to some great 50's music and had a blast dancing for the parents. What a great way to celebrate 50 days of school! Here are some pictures of Alexandra's best moves. Enjoy!
