Good day Snow Shine!

So what do two little happy want to do when there is 7 inches of snow in their yard! Play in it, and of course we let them. (Of course 15 minutes of the cold was about all they wanted to handle.)

Kailey was moreadventuresome. Benson was a little weary, but who wouldnt be when snow is coming up to your thigh. She tromped off all over the backyard, laying in the snow for snow angels and crawling around. Benson stayed closer to the house and flopped over a couple times, unsure how to get back up.

The snow wasn't really a good snow. (Funny how you start taking note of these things because I would have been head of heels after getting 7 inches of snow growing up.) It didnt stick well enough to make snowballs and a good snowman would have been impossible.
Looking out the backyard onto the lake - kinda pretty, huh?
look at the icicles hanging off the house
Brian shoveling the driveway (last night). Are we still in Kansas?
For some reason, the snow needed to be brushed off everything (benches, chairs, grills....)

Snow Days

So we have been snowed/iced in for 2 days now and I suspect tomorrow will be more of the same.

Thursday morning we woke up to rain which quickly started freezing. It rained (turning into ice) for the majority of the day Thursday. Then today (Friday) it snowed just about all day. It could have been a lot worse. They were warning of massive power outages due to the ice that accumulated on Thursday, but it ended up being less an half an inch.

The fun (if this is fun) part is that we are now snowed in with about 7 inches of snow. It is very pretty right now given that there are no footprints and the snow has not turned black and nasty in the front yard. Here are a couple pictures :)

I imagine we will go out and play in the snow some tomorrow - so I will try to post more pictures.
Kailey measuring how deep the snow is....
Benson wouldn't take more than about 2-3 steps into the patio
Here is a picture of our tree covered in ice.

'Tis the Season

We had a great time at Christmas this year. The kids are really starting to get into the whole season. They loved the Christmas Tree, Christmas Cookies, songs, and just about everything you can think of when it comes to Christmas.

Here are a couple picture of Kailey & Benson making a Gingerbread house with Grammy.

Grammy tried really hard to not let the kids get too messy (or do it wrong), but the best part was licking the icing and eating the candy!

Seeing Santa is always great fun...and Mrs. Claus too!
