The thursday before Christmas

It is the Thursday before Christmas- just one more day of work till the weekend. We wanted to take some christmas pictures of Josie for Christmas cards.... but we put it off too long- maybe we will send out happy-new years cards with pictures of Josie instead. Josie is so fun now- she will try and talk, and make all sorts of funny noises. And every-once-in-a-while if your lucky you can catch a little bit of a giggle. She loves to suck on her shirts and she tries to get anybody and everybody's hand in her little mouth. If you are holding her she tries to slowly slide your hands up and up and then she will throw her head down with her tongue hanging out ready to slobber all over your fingers. She is funny. Personally I hate it when peoples hands are anywhere near her mouth- but she finds a way.... she is a funny little girl. She will also roll over now, from her back to her belly. When she gets there she does not know what to do - so she just lays her head down or cries. Its fun to watch. She has little ways to move around a little bit too. Ill put her down in one spot- and she will wiggle her way around and be a foot or two away from where I sat her down. But anyways- back to taking pictures for Christmas cards! haha i got distracted. We set up a little spot to take pictures and put this goofy baby Christmas hat on her head- she hated it. I started taking pictures- but she seamed to hate that too- so I got more candid pictures than happy Christmas baby pictures. Ill post a couple of my favorites-

Thanksgiving

For thanksgiving me Jac and Josie flew up to Washington state to be with the family. We had thanksgiving dinner at my uncles restaurant on woodby Island. We had a lot of fun- and went around Seattle. Josie was so cute with her relatives that she had never seen before (And I haven't seen in years!) It was a fun trip- The plane ride to and from was a breeze with Josie, she went right to sleep and slept the whole trip.

(Pictures finally added 3/23/08- but i took them with my fish-eye. The fountain in Seattle -2 of the nieces Anakah and Hannah, and one with everybody crammed into the elevator-)

Halloween

We found a cute little chili pepper costume at Target for Josie. We decided on it from the rest cause it was the one that fit the best... the others were kind of big. I took Josie over to Marcus's work in it so everyone could see her there. She didn't like it at first but then fell asleep. Marcus decided to be a caveman from the Geico commercial. He went to a make up artist at 6:30 in the morning before work. When he came home he called to me and when I saw him it really scared

me. He didn't look like my Marcus. He then went to work and later on we met up with him. I have to admit that I was glad when he finally took off his costume and cleaned up.

Our One Year Anniversary

It is crazy to think that a year has gone by since Marcus and I got married. So much has happened and changed. We are so happy though. We weren't sure what to do for our anniversary since we have little Josie and she is still so small. Our anniversary was on a Saturday. Friday night I went with Marcus up to Salt Lake to go to an art gallery. We met some of Marcus's friends from work. We didn't stay long cause it was the first time we had really left Josie with someone other than ourselves. Martha stayed and watched her. It was fun to get away for a few hours. The next day we went up to Salt Lake again but this time with Josie too. We stayed at the Plaza Hotel right by Temple Square. Our room had a huge jetted tub right in the front room of our suite. It was so much fun. Josie loved it. It was her first experience "swimming". We turned the jets on for her and she would cry when we turned them off...that is how much she loved them. We walked down to Olive Garden for dinner. It was raining outside and very cold or we would have walked around some more. We went back to our suite and enjoyed the tub and watched TV. The next morning we had an all you can eat buffet breakfast. We then went back and got ready to leave. The weather turned out to be nice on Sunday so we headed over to Temple Square to walk around. It was fun and brought back a lot of memories of the year before and getting married there. Hmmm... I wonder what next year will bring?!

Josie Update

Lately Josie has been smiling at people. Most of the time she is a content little girl. She loves sticking out her tongue- its pretty cute. We love her more and more every day! She has big- bright eyes and looks at everything. She loves to be moving, hates sitting still. She requires a lot of attention and hates her crib! Most of the times she sleeps in her car seat. She is a goofy little girl-

10/09/07

Tonight Jacque had some friends over and we hung out at the house- watched a little Grey's Anatomy and drank sparkling cider. It was fun. Lori, Jacques good friend since high school was here, and her buddy from Chile- Kylie. Josie went with Jacque to her Infant massage class and loved it. she was a very good baby today. She fell asleep on my chest again! I loved it.

Josie, one Month old...

So yesterday Josie finished her first month with us. She has been so much fun. I actually started this blog yesterday and have been trying to update as much as I could- with the pictures that we had. It is crazy that a month has gone by already. When Josie was born she only fit into pre-mie clothing... (clothing for pre-mature babies) and now after this first month those clothes are impossible to get on her. Her 0-3 month clothes at first looked like a little boy wearing his daddies clothing.... and now she fits in it very well. Its pretty crazy how she has grown so much already. It is scary ;) I kinda of want her to stay this small forever. My favorite thing to do with her is cuddle her- I love it when she falls asleep and lays on my chest while i am laying down... I just pat her little back. Sometimes I fall asleep too- and Jacque keeps an eye on us. One night, in the middle of the night Jacque looked over at me sleeping, and my hand was up patting the air... as if I was patting Josie while she was laying on my chest. I didnt remember it- but I thought it was funny when she told me the next day. Another funny thing about Josie is how peculiar she is.... When she is in the car- when I drive slow or come to stops- she starts to whimper and whine but somehow she can since when I get up to around 35-40 and she calms down. Sometimes she will start to fuss on the highway, and I get into the slow lane and drive over those bump strips on the side and she calms right down. She loves it! It actually puts her to sleep. The other day she was really tired and crying, and we came to a red light.... So I would let go of the break and push it down again and rock the car- and she calmed down (although I be the people around me thought I was nuts!) I am so glad we had little Josie- It is a lot of work and a lot of responsibility, but she feels like she belongs and that things would not and could not be the same without her. She lights up our home with smiles. I love to come home from work and hear about the funny things she has done during the day. Ever since she was born she has been very alert... and looks around all of the time with her eyes wide open. Its very cute- Now she is starting to focus on faces and lights and things. It is pretty neat to stare into her eyes while she stares right back into yours. This first month has been fun. I love being Josies Dad.

Grandma Reeder

Josie with her Grandma Reeder. She helped so much during the birth, and we did not even get a picture of her at the hospital! How horrible of us... but it was kinda hectic as you can imagine im sure! ;) Josie loves her Grandmas!

Beauty

Just a couple of my cute little beauty of a wife and my cute little beauty of a daughter! I love these girls!

Potty Stories

The first couple of weeks we had Josie home, diaper time turned out to be quite an adventure. One night (seriously in the middle of the night/ early early morning... 3 or 4ish) Josie was whimpering and had a messy diaper. Jacque didnt want to turn on the light to wake up her sleeping bear of a husband (me) and decided to use daddies cell phone for a light. She took off little Josies diaper and cleaned her up. She then set the phone down close by and went to grab the clean diaper. Before she got the clean diaper, little Josie must have enjoyed the breeze and decided it was time to go again! Except... this was no ordinary #2- little Josie shot out #2 like a super soaker and made a mess of all of the sheets, her new clean diaper, mommy, and of course.... daddies phone. My phone had poop in-between the buttons, all over the display, inside of the back where you plug in the battery. Daddy of course woke up in the commotion and me and Jacque had a good laugh as we changed the sheets!

Then another time, when it was daddies turn to change little Josie, I laid her down on the little couch we have in her room. I followed the procedure- take off the diaper- clean her up, and this time I actually got the new diaper under her. I was about ready to strap it on, when all of the sudden, a yellow fountain erupted. I did not think that you could get pee'd on by little girls, but boy o boy was I wrong! She shot out in all directions! It was almost worse than a boy! Not only did she pee all over me, my clothes, and the couch... but it went up and backwards and her poor little face was covered. She was squinting looking back and forth not sure of what was going on.... but needless to say she made quite the mess :) We had to clean her up good after that one.

Great Grandma

Josie got to meet her Great Grandparents. Great Grandma Painter made Josie a cute little crochet hat, and mittens, along with a couple of blankets. Little Josie's middle name is after her Great Grandma LaFae Painter. (Josie LaFae Hadlock) Josies first name is named after her Great Grandparents on her other side - Grandma Chrissie and Grandpa Joseph Yates. Jacque put both names together and came up with Josie, and we both loved it.

Sunday Walk

We decided to take Josie out for a Sunday walk a couple of weeks after having her home. Also Bug (Our little basset hound) has felt pretty neglected since little Josie has been around. We took them all up into Provo canyon and found a nice park to walk around at. Dj and Martha came along ;)

Josies First At Home Bath

Jacque gave Josie her first bath in the kitchen sink. No more sponge baths- the little belly button cord piece fell off, and she was ready to get wet! She loved the bath and seamed to enjoy the sound of the water. She didnt cry at all, and was quite content. She is so much fun, and smelt soooo good after her little bath. After she was all dried off and dressed, her hair stuck strait up! Pretty funny-

Josies Lil Shoes

So soon after we got little Josie home- we where excited to dress her up in some of the outfits we had. Also, we received some cute little pink baby shoes! She was so funny in them- and looked soooooo adorable!

Hospital Visits

In the hospital little Josie met several uncles, aunts, cousins, friends, and grandparents. Lots of people came to see our little Josie. Grandma Reeder was there for the birth and was a great help to Jacque. Lauren Reeder was also there, but patiently waited in the waiting room, but was the first aunt to see her niece! Just about all of Jacques siblings came to see her, Sarah with her family, Annie and Gracie, Martha. Some friends also came by to visit. Derek and Tracy Sheen, Tiffany, Debbie, and DJ kept me company. Then Grammy pammy, Aunt Elizabeth, and Laura came- with Elizabeths little Hannah and Brax. We appreciated all of the visits!

Josies 0'th Birthday!

When we got to bring our little Josie home from the hospital, we threw her a 0'th birthday party! we had a little cake and some presents for her! It was a lot of fun. She did not blow out her candles, but some of her cousins were in town to help her out! (Braxton and Hannah Butler)
Also Josies aunt Elizabeth and aunt Laura, and Aunt & Uncle Camille and Colt where visiting, and for course, Grammy Pammy. Dj came the next day to see little Josie-
