Christmas

Christmas came and went so fast this year. We spent Christmas Eve with my parents, Travis' parents, and our bro's over at the Rolfe's. We had a lot of fun all together. Hopefully we can combine Christmas Eve every year. Christmas Day we opened up presents here, went to the Rolfe's to open presents and have breakfast, went to my parent's to open gifts, see my grandma and grandpa and have dinner, and then went to see Marley and Me with the Rolfe's later that night.

A few things were definitely different this year. #1 of course, was having our first Christmas together as husband and wife. It was a little weird waking up on Christmas morning and having just the two of us opening up presents...but we had fun. This year we also decided to surprise each other with our Christmas gifts. In years past we would pick out things and just say, "oh you can get me this for Christmas..." So having every present be a surprise was nice. I got Travis a new computer (which has been nice for me too:). He keeps saying I had a "Coach Christmas" because he got me Coach boots, a Coach purse and planner, scarf and coat....yeah...we went a little overboard this year. We agreed that next year we are going to scale back on gifts for each other.

Other than that I had fun getting to spend time with all of my family. I am looking forward to having another week off work. We are working on some projects around here that I will take pictures and post about later. I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas!

OUR WEDDING ALBUM!!!!

Here it is...I found a way to get it up and the pages do enlarge! This is the first draft that was sent to us to approve before it goes to print. It is pretty much going to stay the same other than a few pictures becoming black and white. We are really happy with the way it turned out!

Almost done....

here at the Brann's. This week has really drug on at a snail's pace and I feel like I have been here for a month. The kids have been great, but I am counting down the hours until I get to go home. They should be home tonight around 6pm. The kids and I are going to see Bolt this afternoon and I am hoping that they will be home shortly after the movie. We have pretty much done everything you can cram into one week during my stay. I bought a zillion of the Foamie craft Christmas houses at Michael's and the kids and I had a Christmas village building marathon Monday-Wednesday. We now have six houses, Santa, snowmen, angels, reindeer, etc. on display. We decorated large wooden snowflake ornaments, watched ever Christmas movie out there and even went sledding yesterday in the foot of snow!

Well my stay wouldn't be complete without these few crazy things that happened this week:
-On Monday their giant back sliding door that the dog goes out came off the track and WOULD NOT CLOSE. I mean it had a 2 inch gap between the door and the wall. I was a little nervous about going to sleep that night with the door open and three kids and me sleeping in the house. So Travis came over and fixed it and spent the night.

-Tuesday, I was relieved the door was fixed. I came home from work and opened the door to let the dog out and boom, it came off the track again. I was SO pissed. I called Travis, he stopped by after work and put it back on the track and put a piece of wood in the jam and said it would be best not to open it again. So that means we've had to take the dog outside on a leash to use the bathroom in the freezing ass cold...not fun!

-Wednesday, I wake up and casually notice that the dog used the living room as a bathroom in several spots and chewed not one, but two bottoms of the kitchen bar chairs..Nice!

-Friday we were watching How the Grinch stole Christmas when I hear Elise yell, "Chloe (the dog) just scratched me." Sure enough, she has two scratches on her face. That will be a fun story to explain to the parents. Anyone else seeing a pattern here with the dog? She is a puppy, and is as cute as can be, but she has been the biggest pain in the ass this week!

Our wedding album is in for us to digitally proof before we give the okay for it to be printed. I wish that I could post the 42 pages, but they are pdf files!:( There are few pictures that we want to move around, change to black and white, etc. But, overall we are really happy with how they designed it. I can't WAIT to get my hands on the final copy.

I am so excited for Christmas and the much needed break from school. We have a low key holiday planned. Our parents decided to combine the holidays. So Christmas Eve the Ramsey's and the Rolfe's will celebrate all together at the Rolfe's house. And then Christmas day we will split the day between the two houses. I am looking forward to our first "official" Christmas together.

How are you all celebrating?

Random Updates...

Its been a little while since I've had the time to sit in front of the computer and post. Last week was really busy at work and this week is going to be even more busy. I had my last 2's class on Thursday and we had a Christmas Party. So Wednesday night I baked cookies for the kids to decorate and while I was at it I decided to bake cookies for all of the teachers and Travis and I. The party went really well. I was so impressed with the cookie decorating skills of all of the two's. I have my Christmas parties for the four's tomorrow and Tuesday. It is a lot of work, but it should be fun!

Travis and I made the rounds with our wedding pics all week. We finally sat down Friday night and went through them for the millionth time to pick the 130 that we wanted in the album. Its hard to decide which ones we want in B&W, color, spot colored etc..But, we met with Rawlinson yesterday morning and gave him the photos numbers we wanted to use. Now we just wait for the company to design the layout (it is all computerized) and then they send us an e-mail copy to okay. From there we make changes or give them the go ahead to make the final copy. Once that is done the album should be here in 3-4 weeks. I can't wait.

We went to Michael's and Jo Ann's and picked out a grouping of seven wall frames for the entry way, one for our bedroom wall and three table top frames for our dresser. What do you think?
The wedding prints that we ordered (2-11X14's, 3-8X10's and 6-5X7's) should be in this week. I am excited to fill the frames! I will post the finish product as soon as they are up.

I am off for the next six days to watch the three Brann children while they go to Russia to finalize the adoption of their new little girl. They do have a computer so I will try to post IF I have the time. I will be back Saturday night...just in time to finish everything for Christmas. I hope that everyone has a wonderful week.

Jamaica

We really wish we were still there! It was warm and sunny every day we were there. The resort that we stayed at was about an hour from Montego Bay...so lets just say we had an interesting bus ride to and from the resort...they drive really crazy in Jamaica. When we got there we were shocked by how nice the resort was. It just opened in June and its right on the Ocean. They have 13 restaurants, 20 bars, 2 dance clubs and a spa. The best part was it was all inclusive. So all of our meals (and drinks:) were free. So each day the bar would open at 10am and we would sit by the water and drink daiquiri's all day. Everyone asked us what "we did" while we were there. And its funny because all we did was relax by the water and drink. We didn't do any tours or activities at the resort. We just relaxed...and it was the best vacation ever!

When we were on the beach snapping photos a photographer from the resort came over and took ten amazing pictures of us on the beach. Unfortunately we have them printed out so I can't post them. But, I LOVE THEM! And best of all they were all taken on a cliff overlooking the ocean!!!:) Here are some of the pictures from my camera:
