I am ready for NYE!:)

I am really excited for NYE this year!! We bought tickets to go here about a month ago. It will be nice to get dressed up and go out for the night. It should be fun...I guess they had 1500 people at the party last year. Ryan sent me a video of the party from last year so we could see what we are in for:

Happy New Year! I hope everyone has a great night. Check back in a few days for NYE pics!:)

Three Days of Christmas CRAZINESS!

:Sigh: Christmas....its all a blur now...good thing I took a ton of pictures to remember the events in order!:) Christmas Eve Travis and I were ready by 2pm and out the door on our way to church to get a seat for 4:00 mass. After mass Travis and I (and the Rolfe's) headed over to my parents house to celebrate Christmas Eve all together with my grandparents. (Justin came later after work). We had a delicious dinner and a really nice time all together. *Disclaimer*As you look through the pictures you will notice a ton of pictures of my cat and dog. Just remember we don't have any kids in the family (yet) so they are like our children.

On Christmas Day Travis and I opened our gifts to each other: He got me a Coach purse and several portrait sized wedding prints that I wanted along with the frames. I got him three games that he wanted, jeans, a fleece and two sweaters. Then at 8am we left to go open gifts at the Rolfe's: We got a LOT of clothes, knives, a new DVD player, Travis got a video card and I got another Coach purse. We ate breakfast at the Rolfe's and were at my house by 12:30 to open gifts: Travis got a sweater and a Best Buy gift card and I got a coat I wanted and money to go shopping. Everyone was very generous, we love our gifts!:) At 3pm my parents, brother, grandparents and Travis and I went to my Aunt Kathy's house in Chelsea to visit with her, her husband John and twin girls Hannah and Phoebe. After our visit Travis and I raced back to Canton to meet his parents and brother at the movie theatre to see Sherlock Holmes. It was good, but we were so exhausted by this point I thought I was going to fall asleep during the movie!!! But, overall it was a great Christmas. We are blessed to have such a wonderful family!:)

Yesterday my mom and I left early to go shopping and were out most of the day. When I got home last night I just crashed on the couch and went to bed around 8:00, I was so exhausted from the last three days!!! I am ready to recover and relax...

Reyna and Roobs

I had a fun day yesterday. I headed out to Jackson to visit Leslie, Reyna and Ruby and also got to see Jade, Rocky, Lisa, Emilie, Bobby and other members of the Feister family...so that was and extra treat! I think Reyna liked her book. It took her a few seconds to realize that it was real picture of her in the book. I read it to her and later when Emilie asked her about her book she said, "I live in that book!" She cracks me up!:) :Sigh: every time I leave I wish that I lived down the street so I could see Leslie and these little ladies more often....They are growing up way to fast...

I Love this picture of you three Leslie!
(Notice if anything has been altered?:)

Legend of the Candy Cane

This is a great book and a good Christmas story about the history of the candy cane to share with kids. I read this book to my classes every year and they love it! Here is the basic story of the candy cane:

Did you know that the candy cane was created to honor Jesus? If the candy is held upright, it is the shape of a shepherd's staff, which the shepherd uses as he watches over his sheep. Jesus is our Shepherd. If the candy is turned upside down, it becomes the letter J for Jesus.
The Bible tells us that by Jesus' stripes we are healed. Jesus was beaten and stripes were put on His back when He was crucified in payment for our sins. So the candy cane was made with red and white stripes to represent the blood of Jesus, which washed away our sins and makes us pure and white as snow. One bold stripe represents one God who is Father of us all. The three fine stripes represent the Trinity: one God, who has revealed Himself to us in three ways: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
There are a lot of candy canes in the stores today made with different colors. But they are not TRUE candy canes unless they are red and white and have one bold stripe and three fine stripes. True candy canes are Christian candy because they tell the story of Jesus. Today, we have some TRUE candy canes for all the children.

Cookie Exchange

Friday I went to my friend Kristen's house for a cookie exchange. It was really fun and best of all I ended up with a huge tray of cookies to take home. I actually made peanut butter fudge and won an awesome ornament because my dish was "most festive"...I was very excited!:)

Before I left for the party I told Travis to take a picture of me with my fudge. He was teasing me saying "only I would pose with a tray of fudge." I told him that after spending a day making it and another half day boxing it, typing up the recipe and attaching it to every box, I was taking a picture with the damn fudge!:)

All of the treats...Melissa made the yummy peanut brittle on the tray on the left. I looked at the picture once I uploaded it and realized I should've waited to take a picture of everything once all of the covers were taken off...oops!

Kristen with her igloo cake, it was delicious.
