Christmas Time

The Fire Department comes by our house with a Santa Parade every year. This year, Santa got down off the top of the fire engine and greeted everyone. Mabel wasn't so sure about Santa and then the Grinch came along and she Freaked out. Now she doesn't like Santa because she is scared of the Grinch and relates the 2 together. But it was funny.

Mabel and Isaac had fun on Christmas Eve opening their presents. Look how cute they are in their matching pajamas that Bev made them. I just love Mabel's little nightgown. It is so adorable.

Every Christmas since I can remember, our mother has always bought us matching pajamas -- the tradition continues -- we've just added some more girls.

Happy 60th Birthday Grandma LoLo

Mabel's Grandma Joy Allen (LoLo) turned 60 this last week. We had a big party for her last Saturday. Mabel had fun playing with the decorations and her cousin Isaac, singing Kareoke, and riding Harry the dog.

Halloween

Mabel thinks she is "Boo" from Monsters Ink -- the little girl in the movie. She refers to herself as Booba or Boo. So I thought Boo would be the perfect person for her to be for Halloween. The only Boo Costume I could find was on EBAY for $60 so I decided to make one instead. $11 later, here it is and a matching treat bag as well. Okay, it was not an amazing costume, but it was good enough. The only sad thing, Mabel hated it. She screamed and cried when we forced it on her but she got over it. She refused to wear the head piece, but Boo didn't really wear it in the movie either, so that was fine.

She fell asleep at our ward party -- perfect time for pictures.

Mabel wasn't that excited about Trick or Treating -- but she went for a little while. Afterwards, she came back and read for a little while. She kept flipping through this book saying, "No pictures mommy, no pictures."

Happy Harvest

Okay, so it has been well over a month since I posted -- I think the longest time ever. Life is just busy and it is not letting up, but that is how it goes sometimes.

I took Mabel to Apple Hill. Here she is with some pumpkins
And here is a very big pumpkin -- 1153 pounds.

We found a dead butterfly or so we thought it was dead -- it was actually just injured and couldn't fly, but Mabel had fun with it for awhile.

Mabel had fun picking out her own apples.

Disneyland

Our wonderful cousin Lisa and her son J.R. work at Disneyland and were able to sign us in while we were in Southern California. We were so excited to be able to take Mabel to Disneyland. We had a lot of fun. Mabel's favorite things were the Carousel and the parade. Thank you so much Lisa, Israel, and JR.

Mabel's first trip to the Ocean

Fred and I realized that we have never taken Mabel to the ocean -- so while we were down in Southern California for Fred's Grandpa's funeral, we decided we had to stop by the beach. Mabel absolutely loved it. She loved the sand and she loved the water. I think she would have stayed all day had we let her.

Tattoo Artist and More

Fred took these 3 pictures of Mabel playing -- she really smiles for her daddy.

Mabel got tired one night and decided to put herself to sleep. She gathered up a bunch of blankets and made herself a bed on the floor. We found her fast asleep. What a sweetheart.

Mabel, the tattoo artist. She specializes in circles, although I think there is supposed to be a butterfly in there somewhere. Can you see it?

Mabel Joy turns 2

On Monday, September 8th, Mabel turned 2 years old. It is hard to believe I have a 2 year old. We had lots of family over to help us celebrate her day. Mabel loved her fish cake and all of her presents, but most of all she loved everyone being here. She cried when everyone had to leave.

Mabel loved her cards -- she read every card she got, or at least pretended to read them.

After everyone left, it was time to play with all her new fun toys. She put on her musical tutu and made mom crack her egg in her mixing bowl about 40 times. Then she mixed it all up and tasted it with her wooden spoon.

She got a little brush, which she decided was a tooth brush instead of a hair brush

Mabel loves her new princess shoes, but she can't figure out which one goes on which foot.

Mabel's Cousin, Baby Allie is here

Mabel has been the only grandchild of my parents up until now. She is no longer the baby of the family. A new little girl has taken her place. My brother Ben and his wife Mattie had their first daughter last night on August 25th. Allie Mae Wilkins was born at 6:49pm 8 pounds 3 ounces, 19 inches long. We went to see her last night -- she is beautiful. It was fun to be there. Ben, Mattie, and Allie are all doing well. They should be coming home tonight or tomorrow morning.

What a stylish cutie

I love this picture of Mabel -- one of my new favorites!

Here is Mabel in her stylin' dress and boots.

Mabel LOVES Cheese! She asks for it constantly.

Milk please mama -- she still signs "Milk" when she says it.

Check out this outfit

I put the shirt and shorts on her. She added the hat and boots. I think she is pretty stylin -- what do you think?

Mabel loves blankets -- she is always playing with them and wraping herself up in them.
