Cali Highlights #5

Our Scenic Drive From Santa Barbara to SanFrancisco!

We took the road that goes right along the ocean. It was curvy, and average speed was 25 miles/hr, but it was very beautiful. There were little stops all along the way, that were considered little towns, but really there was just gas, food, and some little cabins usually. We stopped and took pictures when the sun set, and a couple other times just to get out for a bit. We also stopped at the Hearst Castle and didnt get to get too close to it, cuz you have to pay to take a tour and shuttle up to it, but we saw a short movie about it and could see it from some telescopes. Really neat place!

Cali Highlights #4

We were able to visit one of Micah's mission companions, Derek, and fiancee who live in Santa Clarita. We got to see where he works, their condo, some old mission videos, went out to eat and had the best ever onion rings, and then had icecream. It was great!

Cali Highlights #3

We enjoyed staying in Goleta with Annie and Alex, going to church with them, playing with the boys, celebrating my birthday, hiking, and hanging out at the beach.

32 weeks and 8 to go!

I am at my 32 weeks mark today and everything is going just great still. I am now seeing the doctor every two weeks and we signed up for several classes to prepare us for labor and delivery. One is just a prenatal class for couples on hospital procedures, labor & delivery procedures, getting an epidural, managing last trimester concerns, and some basic breathing and relaxation. we also signed up for an extra class on breathing and relaxation that goes into more depth. I will also go to a class on breastfeeding. So we are way excited! I think we will really need these short classes though, cuz this week at our appointment when the doctor was asking if I plan on having an epidural or not, I think he could tell how totally clueless we are about everything. He seemed like he was trying to get a feel for how I was feeling and how nervous I am... but I really have no clue what to expect at all, so I don't even know how to feel. He was briefly talking about how there are some different options about different things and that they would help and support me in whatever I feel I should do to as much extent as they could. But I don't even really know what different options there are besides whether or not you get an epidural. Anyways, we are pretty easy going and laid back about it all, not really many worries. Maybe once it gets closer, I'll start thinkin about more stuff, but as of now we are just pretty much like "whatever works.." So anyways, thats the latest update on me and "lil D".

Cali Highlights #2

Cali Highlights #1

On our last day in California before getting in the car and heading to Winnemuca where we stayed over on Thursday night, we made a visit to the Oakland Temple. It is very beautiful! We took pictures, went in the visitors center, and did a little temple work. One of our 5 goals of this trip was to go to a California Temple, so we were fortunate to have been able to get that in on our last day. Here's some of the pics we took...
p.s. Mike will have to tell the story behind the picture of Christ thats on the back of the temple.
