Very Exciting Christmas!!

Just wanted to share our Christmas present we gave our moms!

Yes it is true. I AM PREGNANT!!!! We are expecting our first. Its been kind of fun and tricky keeping it a secret until now, but it sure was a exciting Christmas present. My body can definitely feel a change. Thankfully I have not been too sick, just a little nausea in the mornings but not puking. Its going to be a hot summer; the baby is due July 23, 2009. Our next doctors appointment we will get to hear the heart beat. Its all new to us, but its a great opportunity and excitement!!

Well yesterday was supposed to be the biggest storm of the season. Megan, Ty's sister, lives in Logan going to school, but the weather was too bad for her to make it down to Morgan. So we headed up so Ty could bring home his little sister. It was pretty clear heading up, but on the way back it was pretty bad. Megan followed us the whole way. We were only able to travel 30 to 35 mph. I couldn't believe how much moisture was coming down; snow and rain. While up in Logan we were able to see the improvements and remodel of the basement apartment of Matt and Jackie; that is where Megan is living.

Snow Day!

It snowed really good last Wednesday too. There was a whole three inches so they canceled school. Its kind of sad they had a snow day in Southern Utah, but there just wasn't enough equipment to have roads cleared for the buses. Lisa and I had both worn open toed shoes not expecting a snowy day. We had few a errands to finish. Needless to say our toes were froze. We even HAD to order soup from OLIVE GARDEN! Then when we got home we had to take pictures and play in it. There was too much snow on Frosty that we couldn't hold his own. And our poor chickens they were cold. I draped a blanket over the nesters. There was one little chicken that got left out, and as soon as she say I had covered up the others she came a running.

So we were a little late getting a Christmas tree, but we had to find the front room first. It was fun to go with Lisa, Kadin and Shantay. It had snowed all day and was a pretty ugly sky, but the snow on the red mountains was beautiful. By the time we got up to Pine Valley it was pretty much dark. Ty and Kadin went hunting for us a tree. When they had done the hard work, the girls hiked up to see what they had found. It is kind of a short squatty tree, but I have a special side for short and squatty. We all had to take a turn cutting it down. Then we enjoyed hot chocolate on the tailgate. It was a good time. Ty let Lisa drive so she could see how it was to drive on slick roads.

Still a mess!

It has been a long time since I have been able to sit down and update our information. We have been working on our house trying to get everything finished and put back together. Ty has been a little busy bee. He would rather work on the house than go to work, which is unusual for him. We have taken lots of pictures to look back on and see the progress we have made, but I won't post ALL of them.
We took a small break for Thanksgiving. My parents were up helping, and my dad refused to work on Thanksgiving. We were going to head to Overton but my dad ended up not having to work so we just enjoyed Thanksgiving at house in a mess.
Ty's biggest accomplishment this past week has been getting the bathroom completed. We sent a couple days in Overton so they could make a cabinet to go in the bathroom for more storage. There was a double sink, and we took one out and replaced it with the cabinet. It looks awesome. Our next phase of the project is the new pantry Ty built.
It is the Taylor's (my mom's side) family Christmas party this weekend, and it just so happens they will be coming to my house, so I really have to get busy and get things to look presentable.

A Mess!

We have been busy trying to finish our project we started. It looks really good! We have all the tile down and grouted, the kitchen sealed so we have started to move things back in. The thing I was most excited about was my washer and dryer. For one its off my front steps and for two I don't have to go to other peoples house to wash clothes. I will get pictures added, but we just haven't had much time to play on the computer.

Mom came up this last weekend for a couple different reasons. One was to help demolish the house. We aslo went to the Scraptbook USA expo. We met my friend Shay there and had a great time. I didn't know there could be so much paper and scraptbook stuff in one location. For that matter I didn't know that much stuff existed, but we got some great deals. And because we bought so much they gave us these beautiful scafs.
Then Saturday morning we headed to Richfield for my cousin Tyler's wedding; Tyler and Beth.

Project of the Month

BEFORE

So we have started a new project of course. It seems like we are always doing something, but I think this one is a litte more serious than the rest. We have had many family memers and friends helping to rip up the tile and carpet in our kitchen, dinning room, entry way, hall way, and bathroom. We really appreciate the many hours of help. Needless to say its a mess. Most of my kitchen is in my front room, the cabinets are in the garage, my washer and dryer is on the front porch, and the bathroom supplies are in my room. Ty has built a pantry in the kitchen to give me somewhere to keep my food storage. We are trying to get everything ready for Wednesday when my dad is coming up to help Ty lay tile. It sure will be nice once we get it done.

Mom and Dad came up, Kadin and his friend Shantay came over and we enjoyed a night of carving pumpkins. Its fun to have everyone together to laugh and have fun.

Ty and I have been raising chickens for about eight months or so.

We had kind of rough start keeping them alive and away from

friendly little critters. But we have done very well on this bunch.

Ty built the little cage first until we had the time to build the way

he wanted. Now he has rearranged and slid the two cages together

to connected them from inside so the chickens have more room

when they are locked up. We let them out during the day to roam

the whole fenced in area. We got Big Red Chicken from a coworker

and she has been laying for quite some time. But within the last

three weeks we have four other chickens that have started to lay.

We get three to four eggs a day which helps with buying groceries.

Now we just need a cow and a gas machine and we would be set.

It's good to have Ty back. He has been in Kansas City, Missouri for training. There were two others from Saint George that he traveled with. They were so close to Liberty Jail that they were able to visit the monument. They also went to Independence Missouri Visitor Center. Ty had a great time and learned a lot. He flew into Las Vegas late Friday night. We met them at the free way exit so he could spend the weekend with us.
It was my Grandpa's 70th birthday, so we headed to Vegas Saturday morning, and surprised him for dinner. Then Sunday my aunt and uncle blessed their 8 week old baby Madden Kayde Taylor.
Ty has been gone long enough and is glad to be back home.

I traveled back with my mom and Lisa to Overton Thursday night, so Friday we got to spend time together just the girls. We sewed, and scrapbooked all day. We had a lot of fun making cards. Then Friday night we went to the Moapa Valley High School football game. (I am glad I am not back in High School) It was fun to see people from the valley, but the game was boring; 49 to 0. So we left early.

My Husband Is Awesome!
He is always trying to surprise me and do things in secret. But a little secret is he can't lie, but this time he did a pretty good job. He stayed up late to "watch a movie" but instead he blew up a whole bunch of balloons and placed them all over the house so I would see them this morning when I woke up. It's so much fun to have special things waiting for on your Birthday. I can't believe I am one year older. Time just seems to fly by, and by the way the pictures were taken first thing in the morning- not quite awake.
Thanks Ty, I love you!

Camping Trip

We went camping a couple weekends ago; Dave, Shay, Belle, Maycee, and Kai Williams, Brooke and Rich Triplett, Ty and I. We headed up Cedar Mountain to Navajo Lake. It was so beautiful with all the leaves changing colors. It is not a replacement for Timber Creek but definitely a substitution.

Still learning

Sorry its slow to get up and going. Lisa my sister is still trying to show me different tricks to this whole blog thing.
