Caiden's BIG hit!

This is overdue but we are so proud of Caiden. This year Caiden apparently played well enough at baseball tryouts that Ryan and I were asked if Caiden could play in Double A instead of one more year in coach pitch. It was a tough choice because in this league it's the kids who are pitching. Plenty of kids have been hit by pitches (including Caiden). We decided that if the coach thought Caiden was ready for Double A to let him go ahead with it. Caiden is definitely among the youngest and littlest kids in the league and has not yet seemed to feel comfortable with this league. (If I could go back in time I would have kept him in coach pitch.) Anyway, the season is about half over and Caiden had not had his first hit. Last week he made contact, which was not much because it popped about 5 feet in front of home plate, Ryan and I were yelling, "Run!! Run!!!" Caiden ran as fast as lightning to first base and the second he hit the base he stopped and turned around to Ryan and I with his arms in the muscle man pose and the biggest grin you've ever seen on the boy. He was so excited! He wouldn't stop talking about it. We are so happy for him and are so proud of him. He has struggled with wanting to even go to baseball this year but happily I think this makes him a little more encouraged and confident. It sure is fun watching our kids develop and learn. We sure love them all!

Cam made the bed!

This morning over breakfast I asked Camden if he had made his bed today. (I have not been the best and having our kids do that regularly but I clearly need to start.) He said he hadn't but that he'd go do it. I came upstairs and he was so excited to show me. Cam was saying, "Come and see... I made my bed." He sounded so proud of himself. I walked into the room and saw that clearly my big 4 year old had done this job all by himself. I told him, "Great job Cam! That looks great." It was then I realized I had not observed the positioning of all the stuffed animals on the bed. He said, "They're smelling the butts!!!" He was cracking up and I couldn't help but do the same when I saw for myself. What a crazy kid!

Happy Birthday Ryan! 31 big ones!

I'm a day late but Ryan had his 31st birthday yesterday! Happily we celebrated it Sunday with some cake because yesterday was just busy all day. Ryan did get some help from the kids with opening his presents in the morning. Unfortunately I don't get to say that I had any fabulous gift to give to Ryan this year. He picked himself up a HAM radio last week so does that count for anything? Hopefully we'll get to go to dinner this weekend. Ryan I love you babe! Happy Birthday!

Cam's 4! Happy Birthday

Today is Camden's 4th birthday! Crazy how time flies. Last Saturday we did a little birthday party for Camden and had a great time. Cam spent probably the first half of the party on the waterslide and then realized he could share with some friends his amazing xbox skills that have been developed over the last few years with some of his party friends so he escaped until he realized there were birthday presents and cake.

Camden is such a colorful addition to our family. He gives the best hugs when you least expect them. He's also quite the comedian. We are so happy to have Camden in our family. Happy Birthday Buddy!
