Uncle Abundi

I got an e-mail today saying my Uncle Abundi, my mother's brother passed away on Friday afternoon. I am so glad I got to visit him one last time three weeks ago. My cousin's say he often spoke of my mother Klara (his sister) and his mother, my grandma. He had total Alzheimer's, so I am sure they came to accompany him home.

UTAH

Warren and I have been on the road for 11 days now. We left our home on July 15, drove to St. George, Utah and saw 'Sound of Music' at the Tuacahn theater the night of the 16th. On the 17th our friends John and Linda Berry and their daughter Janice joined us and we saw 'Les Miserable' that night. We also visited Warren's brother Kendall.
From St. George we drove our summer home to Springville, Utah (near Provo) where we enjoyed a very pleasant evening with our families at Kevin and Ashley's house for a pizza party and 'rock band' night. We were able to spend time with Theresa's family before driving to Melanie's in South Jordan. From there we came to Logan to visit our families here and help Warren's mom and my dad with some catch up work. However, my dad didn't want to work, he just wanted to visit. On the 24th of July we made dinner at my dad's for my sisters and Warren. That evening, back at the trailer, we were able to watch the fireworks in Willow Park from the windows of our trailer.
Saturday we had a Sorensen reunion at the church park near grandma's house. We had a very good turn our and made grandma a wonderful album with all her family (almost) participating. We have promises of picture from those that 'forgot' to bring or send them.
Monday (tomorrow) we will leave here to meet Melanie's family and Angie's family at Bear Lake for five days. That should be lots of fun!

Adjusting to being back home.

Although I'm glad to be back home, I miss the quiet countryside of Switzerland. Also, I'm sending a pic of Warren's new toy. He decided to sell my qaud and buy something that would be more 'comfortable' for me. I know it's what he's wanted for quite a while now. He is convinced I will enjoy it too. We'll see just how much I get to drive it.

Back in Switzerland in Herzogenbuchsee where my dad's family are from. There are still many Ingolds who live here and this one is even a cabinet maker like my dad.

I came from Switzerland 58 YEARS ago! Last year I decided I needed to make a trip to Europe to visit my only uncle Abundi and aunt Erika Schmid, who are both in their 90's, before it was too late. Since my last visit six years ago, I have already lost a second cousin.
My daughter Natalie, sons Ron and Eric and Eric's wife Alisyn and her 14 year old niece Brooklyn came with me. Eric arranged for the rental car and I made all the other arrangements and schedule myself. We had so much fun and got so tired. Her Natalie and I are flying over the Atlantic Ocean.
