Its the most wonderful time of the year!

Lucky for us Steve, Nicole and Jackson stopped by to stay with us a bit on their way up to Idaho for Christmas Break. Jackson enjoys playing with our rockband drumsticks.... bitting them is more like it ;) ummm fiber.
After mush deliberation we finally purchased a nativity for 60% off at the bookstore. Yay!
Yes it is blurry... we got to go see the lights at Thanksgiving Point. I took pictures but as you can see they are all blurry so none of them really worth posting, but here is a taste.
Look they have reindeer!

I made some homemade caramels for a Relief Society activity and here they are all wrapped up... yay!
Well there is a little of what we have been up to... I officially finished all my Christmas shopping and JD had his last class of the semester yesterday... just finals... if you can say JUST finals right ;) Hope all have a very Merry Christmas!

Let your heart be full of Thanksgiving

I don't know about you but JD and I have much to be grateful for this season. For starters I have a sweet husband who brought me this beautiful rose, just to say I love you and thank you. Sweet huh, made me cry... but more than anything I am grateful for my Savior. I know that JD and I have had numerous examples of tender mercies and I can't even begin to say how grateful I am for the joy and hope the gospel brings to my life each and everyday.

JD and I were very lucky to have his parents here for the holiday which was really nice for JD since I worked nights this week and worked Thanksgiving night and all weekend. Thank you guys so much, you probably have no idea how much we appreciate your love and support! It was wonderful to have family and I was a slacker and didn't take pictures, but we had a great time! JD and I were able to drive as far as Salt Lake with his parents to see the lights at Temple Square so here are some pictures for your viewing enjoyment. I love the lights they are so amazing!
In the spirit of Christmas and having room in our kitchen after Thanksgiving we finally put up our tree after looking at the lights... I know you are all shocked it took us so long, but we got it up and love it in our new place! It has been wonderful!

Back to Temple Square pictures!

Thanks for taking our pictures :)

Dangers of Provo

My Parents are in town for Thanksgiving and its been a lot of fun. They are avid Jazz fans and as we were watching the game tonight I saw this commercial and it killed me. When Rainn Wilson (Dwight from the office) said he got beat up in Provo once I died laughing. Hope all of you who have lived in Utah enjoy this as well.

Just some more projects

I have been working on some projects and decided to share some pictures.... I am sure that I probably should do a separate blog for my hobbies, but then you might wonder what I have been up to... :)
Here is a message board that I started in Relief society and then couldn't find metal to fit the cute red board I had, so I got a bigger board to fit the metal and painted it brown and stole the stickers off my other one... so what I am saying is that if anyone wants a red board with nothing on it let me know :)
I got this cute pattern from my friend Wendy... it is pretty easy to make and fun too!

a closer look...
Here is a beanie I made on those round loom things... JD showed me. Don't look too close.
Here is a little sign I made to go above the piano... It was fun and easy... apparently I feel the need to decorate. ;) I stole this idea from Sarah Buehler if the truth be told (which it aught)

Happy Halloween!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween. I hope you can guess what JD and I are... if not keep on reading! Scott and Wendy invited us over for a little party! We had lots of fun and Wendy made a sweet pumpkin shaped pizza! We are so lucky to have such fun friends!

Did you guess yet? We are a spoon and a fork.... so that means together we are a spork? hehehe just kidding!
Wendy is a toothfairy! She is a cute pregnant lady! We are excited for you guys!
Scott is a pro soccer player!

Here we are bobbing for apples... I love this game!
My turn

Here is a little video of JD bobbing, I have to say he is the pro....

Here I finally got it!

Just a couple pics I forgot ...

So today I finished this project... as you can see I am trying to occupy all my days with productive things. :) Here I bought some pillows and fabric and made a cushion for this sweet rocking chair we inherited from the previous owners of our condo. It is in really good shape, just not super comfortable so here is my creation ;)
Here is a pic of Chels and me at her reception, I forgot to put it with her other wedding pictures. She sure is cute ;) Congrats Chels!!!!!

Up to...

So because I am really lucky I get to work just three days a week and play the other days! I have been developing my talents or simply trying. Here is something Wendy showed me how to do... I had no idea how to crochet before, but I relly enjoy it. And for all you hopefuls, no it is not an announcement ;)
I made these sweet magnets for the fridge and I am really excited about them except the magnets stink and I may have to get different magnets... teach me to get cheap ones and hope they can hold up anything but themselves ;)
JD and I went on a sweet cruise this year at the end of April and on the beach in Coco Cay, I collected a bunch of shells! I finally did something with them. Incidently the picture is of us in Cali.... but perhaps I will trade it out for one from the cruise ;)

Ahh Fall...

I love fall! I love the color of all the leaves and I love jacket weather! Unfortunately it went from hot to cold, but that is ok, I will have to settle for enjoying the leaves! This picture is from up Provo Canyon, by Bridal Veil Falls park.
When my parents flew into SLC from visiting my brother, sister-in-law, and brand new nephew in Conneticut we drove up to see them for a bit. While we were waiting because their flight was delayed we went up to the capital where JD will be doing and internship next semester.

King( or Queen) of the hill for sure
While we were there we found a neat park in the valley adjacent to the capital on the right.
Sweet bridges

Catch up....

I bet you are all wondering what we have been up to this past month... So here are a few pics and really there is not much to tell about exciting things we just work and JD goes to school :) Here are some pics of another football game. I am 99% sure this game was against the Aggies.
Scott and JD

Here is the view from our sweet seats! Sometimes you get lucky with rotating seats. Makes each game a little more varied and exciting, for me at least... I am not sure about JD ;)
This past weekend JD and I had the oppertunity to be in Idaho for my friend Chels and Wes's wedding! I am so excited for them both! Here they are coming out of the Rexburg temple.

Sweet pic of Chels and Wes
We definately are grateful for friends and family. They truly have been such a support and strength to us. This has been a difficult semester for JD, but I am continually amazed at the tender mercies I see all around me. God is aware and does love us no matter what we face. JD reminds me often when we are struggling with different things that trials are a neccessary part of our time on this earth. Most of all we just simply need to see the sunshine in the midst of the storm and be faithful to what we know to be true.

Football!

BYU football has not been all that fans were hoping from our amazing start with the game against Oklahoma, but JD will tell you that we are not fair weather fans. It was quite the disappointment to lose to Florida state, but we have enjoyed going to the games anyway. JD and I were lucky enough to get All-Sports Passes so that we can go to all the home games. It has been fun and I am sure my younger brother Matt, who has tried to teach me more about football, would be impressed with how much I have learned and continue to learn being married to JD :) I have fun and enjoy learning about something that JD enjoys. So here are a few pics of the game against Florida State.

Here are our sad faces because we lost.... except Scott said I looked like a gangster ;)
