Roger took a Saturday to work with Zac to build a new Pinewood Derby racecar. Zac loved working with the power drill.

Ski for Free!

I took the 4 older kids up to "Ski for Free after 3:00" at Alta. It was a beautiful clear day, but it was -2 degrees on top so our fingers and ears stingled.

On the last run down, Jason went on a trail to go off a jump and found someone stopped in front of him so he did a quick turn to the side and his pole popped him in the chin. He didn't even crash and because his face was so numb, he didn't even know that he was bleeding.

He got 10 stitches. (No longer a free day of skiing)

Ivory Coast Missionary Dinner

Elder Legere and Elder Skousen (attending BYU) came for Sunday dinner with Brett at our house.

Elder Skousen - on the right - (Washington) was the AP for 6 months before he trained Brett to take over. Brett was glad his turn was only for 3 months.

Edler Legere (Las Vegas) spent his whole mission in Ivory Coast and as the Elders were being flown out to Togo and Benin, the mission president had him pull his suitcases off the conveyor belt to put on a different flight to go home a week earlier than expected.

President and Sister Norby served as mission president in the Ivory Coast mission several years before these Elders arrived, but they found a lot of places, traditions and people that they knew in common to talk about. They can relate to each other in a way the rest of us don't even begin to understand.
