Sunrise

I know that many of you go to the beach as a regular vacation. I've only been on a "beach vacation" about 4-5 times in my life, so going to the beach is a great thrill for me. I have always enjoyed spending time outside alone in the quiet of nature no matter where I am. This past week I made it a point to get up early and go watch the sunrise as many times as possible. I know it was vacation and you're supposed to relax and enjoy yourself, but as much as I dislike getting up early, I do like watching the sunrise. So as I sat on the beach listening to the waves breaking on the shore as I watched the sunrise, I was reminded again of the wonder of God's creation.

There's an old song called "The Wonder Of It All" that says the following:

There's the wonder of sunset at evening,
The wonder as sunrise I see;
But the wonder of wonders that thrills my soul
Is the wonder that God loves me.

There's the wonder of springtime and harvest,
The sky, the stars, the sun;
But the wonder of wonders that thrills my soul
Is a wonder that's only begun.

Chorus:
O, the wonder of it all! The wonder of it all!
Just to think that God loves me.
O, the wonder of it all! The wonder of it all!
Just to think that God loves me.

As amazing and wonderful as the sunrise on the beach, it is even more amazing and wonderful to think that God loves ME!

He loves me in spite of all my failures and shortcomings.
He loves me when I am unlovable.
He loves me when I'm having "one of those days"
He loves me when I'm on top of it all.

There's absolutely nothing I can do to change His love for me.

Think about that the next time you see the sunrise....

"The LORD hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee." Jeremiah 31:3
