old news, but really interesting just the same

this actually happened they day BEFORE we moved. i was SO glad it didn't happen the day of. it took me 2 hours to go 7 miles. it took the toad 2 1/2 to go 10. it was a rough day. and a big waste of gas and we were just glad we werent driving the uhaul that day. that would have been more of a waste of gas :P

in other news...

i'm the new manager at my salon. just thought i'd post it before i forgot and then people got mad at me for not telling them... heh heh heh

V is the roman numeral 5

we just got called to teach the 5-year-old kids in my ward. they are SO cute! a handful, FOR SURE. but the greatest. we bribe them with candy to listen and it works for the most part :) when we first got the class it was just chloe, grace, mary, sariah, bella and sam. daniella, katelyn, talon, tiffany, and billy had a different teacher who ended up moving, so they gave them to us, so now we have ELEVEN! its rough, but AWESOME. i love them all!



this is billy. his real name is really long. and i can't spell it or say it (he is polynesian) so we call him billy. he has only come a few times. and is the strong silent type. doesn't he look tough? i think so...


















raising her hand is bella. she is linus. her blankie comes with her every week:) her family speaks spanish, so i think they go back and forth between the two wards. next to her is daniella. her family speaks spanish as well so we hardly ever saw her the first little while, but her mom got called to the primary presidency so now we see her all the time! :)


















this is talon. he is a very sweet and tender little guy. he is super obedient, but love to be silly just like any other little boy. you get him and sam together and it is chaos! he struggles to listen, but when you go to a different church every other weekend i guess its easy to understand :)















this is tiffany she is a little fire cracker :) she loves candy and coloring. she comes maybe twice a month if that, so we don't see her much but we sure love it when she's there :)














this is katelyn. she is SUPER sweet and SUPER quiet. she is a really good kid. never gives us any trouble, she is shy, so she doesn't always want to answer questions, or participate, but she is never a problem. when katelyn's other teacher moved, katelyn didn't remember or didn't know, she came to church, sat in the usual spot and never found her class. she sat there crying. i noticed her crying, but was trying to take care of all my kids, so i told the primary president "that little girl" was crying. i didn't know who she was, so heather took her out and talked to her and then brought her to me. she told me she was mine. i felt so bad for her! she is just sweet.


















this is sariah. she is brilliant. she knows all the words to all the songs. she is allergic to everything so we make sure our candies comply to her issues. :) one time we sang a song in sharing time and she wanted to sing the second verse, but they were moving on. so when they started singing another song, she sang the second verse to me very quietly. she gets pretty upset if something is out of order according to her. but if you give her some one-on-one time she is fine. pretty cute.

this is mary (on the left) and grace (on the right). mary is very quiet and likes to be good. she tries really hard to answer the questions (because who doesn't want candy?) but mostly she goes off on tangents. she is the first to remind all the girls that we can take bathroom breaks and if she raises her hand, i'm sure to go on a field trip to the bathroom with seven girls:)

grace is SUPER animated. she talks nonstop. i love that she has so much to say, i just wish she understood whispering. i feel bad because when they asked us to teach, they told us that she has gone home from church only to say she doesn't want to go back because "they always just tell me to be quiet" so i try to say things like "use your church voice" or even "whisper" just so the other teachers can sort of talk over her. :)


this is chloe. she is the oldest and the most serious of my kids. she and sam know the answers to ALL of the questions. (even if i think sam isn't listening) chloe likes to be reverent and set the example for the rest of the kids. she still laughs at sam though!















this is sam. he is our class clown. he says "eyeball" to everything. i ask, "who is this a picture of?" "eyeball Jesus" "that's right sam, Jesus. what is Jesus doing here?" "teaching the eyeballs" "close. how about teaching the children?" the other kids think its HILARIOUS. well. they ARE five. :)

1. sometimes i think i'm funny. i always laugh at other people's blogs and so when i go to do a blog i have to think of the funniest way to write it. that's probably partly why i haven't blogged for a while. i can't think of any GREAT stories to tell in the funniest way possible. too bad

2. i have to finish everything i start. even if i finish it a million years too late. when i was on my mission they had this certificate you could get by memorizing all the discussions and scriptures that went along with them. it took me a year. my mission was only a year and a half. so i had actually i had 5 months left when i finally completed it. i was practically done w/my mission. everyone else who got the certificate got it in the first 2-3 months they were there. this finishing it thing is also why i don't blog often. i still have "v" and "z" left. WHAT ON EARTH starts w/those letters? oh brother. don't worry. i'll finish. i'll think of SOMETHING. :)

3. i "edit" EVERYTHING, but then i don't do it myself. i will spell check/grammar check/and all the other stuff ( i'm obviously really good at it, i can't even think of the real terms). i never capitalize my words when i type or blog. i used to be great at typing, but then i got lazy and ignored the shift key. i've also got lazy with spelling, i use spell check. i think its made us all lazy, don't you think? which takes me to #4....

4. in relation to #3, and stealing from katie's quirks: i've always LOVED spelling. she mentions that i did her spelling homework. i DID and i LOVED it!! it was SO EASY AND FUN. i still love spelling. i wish i knew more words. i recently watched "akeelah and the bee". there's someone to idolize! i wished so badly it was me in that movie! i want to learn to spell all those words and win a national spelling bee. c'mon people, i'm 29, HOW IS THAT NORMAL?

5. i get "phantom vibrates" i dont know what else to call them. so my phone is ALWAYS on vibrate. ALWAYS. and i usually have it in my left pocket. even when i'm in the shower, i think i feel my left hip vibrating. i will un/subconsciously touch my left hip w/my left hand just to make sure it is/isn't. I'M IN THE SHOWER and i still check. maybe i should get help for being addicted to my phone. its not even a cool phone.

6. i'm over paranoid like katie mentioned. but i don't have a picture from the PICU to remember, i just have scenes from TV shows or movies or stories others have told me. i get up daily w/my husband to say goodbye to him at 4 a.m. i am worried that if i don't get up and say goodbye, he will leave and wreck on the side of the road and be dead for 6+ hours while i'll have got a great extra 6+ hours of sleep. and i'll have no idea. the idea of it makes my stomach churn. so i get up every morning @4 and then i make him text me and tell me he made it safely to work, THEN i go back to sleep ;)
