Miles 4 months/Ronan 2.5 years

Wow, what a busy 2 months since our last post. Miles is now 4 months old and Ronan has passed the 2.5 year mark. Both boys are growing well, which is so wonderful. I just had to put away Miles 0-3 month clothes (he wore them until about 3 months). It was bittersweet! He is no longer brand new!! Ronan has moved into mostly 3T clothes, so I also had to go through all of his clothes. Good thing that I have enough clothes for the next 2 sizes for him!! Sometimes my buying ahead doesn't work out. I just found a pair of boots that I bought at a mom-to-mom sale that were 2 different sizes. Oh well!

One of the biggest changes for us was that I went back to work on Friday, Jan. 13th. That was a HUGE adjustment for all of us. Both boys are attending daycare 4 days/week and I am off on Thursdays. Miles is in the infant room (of course) and Ronan just got moved up to the older toddler room 2 weeks ago. I think Ronan is enjoying being with some of his good friends again (Abby and Noah) and is missing some of his younger friends (Connor and Andrew). Ronan's new room is getting him ready for preschool. He is trying to dress himself (yikes!) and is trying on the potty. He tells us every time he poops or pees, so it is just him making up his mind to get on the potty first. I really had a hard time with going back to work. To be honest, I had a few breakdowns and am now in the process of hiring someone to clean my house....I just can't keep up and have been super stressed about it.

Jim has been remodeling the kitchen. I am so glad that it is almost done. It is such an improvement from all the pink.

In January we took a trip up to the Great Wolf Lodge in Travers City. We went with good friends, The Paulson's. Ronan is still talking about the "waterpoke".

Ronan is enjoying a donut at the GWL.

Ronan and Maddie eating breakfast.

Miles taking a snooze. The waterpark made him tired!

Ronan liked the kiddie pool, but was not too sure about the water slides. He went down each one once on the first day and then would not go on them again. It was a surprise for us, becasue he likes the slide at the park so much.

Miles hung out in the snugli for a lot of the time. It was a little hard taking an infant to the waterpark since you always had to hold him. The last day we left him in his carseat and that worked out well.

Ronan really enjoyed story time at the Lodge. He renamed his pj's that he wore that night his "storytimes". Now he requests the "storytimes" all the time. He has such a good memory. Jim asked him what motion our group had to say at storytime and he remembered it a month later! We were quite impressed.

Ronan in his "monsters" watching VeggieTales with Miles. Ronan loves those pj's so much that he has worn holes in the footies.

Now for my little Miles: You are 4 months old! You got your first post-daycare cold about 2 weeks after starting there. After recovering a bit, last week Mom picked you up after Zumba (trying to lose the last 20 lbs!) and you looked terrible. I took you to the walk-in clinic and you were fine, it was just a cold, but you looked so sad!

You are such a good baby. You love to eat and have been eating 4-4 oz bottles at daycare. Mom also feeds you in the morning and 2-3 times in the evening. You had been sleeping through the night for about 6 weeks, but then you started waking up during the night when you had your cold and are now waking up just once for about 15 minutes to get a snack at about 3 or 4 am.

You just got moved up to size 2 diapers. You weighed 14 lbs 13 oz at the walk-in clinic last week. Your 4-month appt. is coming up this week, so we will see how much you are there. You seem to be a big, chunky boy, but you are a bit smaller than Ronan was (he was 15 lbs at 2 months!).

You are wearing 3-6 month clothes. You love to smile at Mom and Dad and Brother. The girls at daycare say you don't smile much at them, so you must just love us a lot!!

Here you are in your swing. You like to snooze in it. Your naps are still all over the place.

Daycare notes-Miles:

1/16/12 (First day at daycare) You had 2.5 bottles at 1035, 1245, and 245. You were wet 4 times. You had 4 naps (815-845, 1200-1220, 145-215, and 300-355). You liked peek-a-boo and the ducky swing and also worked on the baby-sign "please".

1/20/12 You had 4 bottles at 0930, 1145, 145, and 4 pmish (last one not written down). You were wet 3 times and had 1 poo. You had 4 naps (815-845, 1025-100, 100-210, 315-?). You played with the activity bar, worked on baby-sign "more" and read " I love you stinky face".

Note from your teacher Ms. Brittany on 1/31/12 said "Miles had a great day! He was all smiles at drop-off. He enjoyed playing on the floor under the activity bar today."

2/10/12 You had 3 bottles at 1000, 1245, and 325. You had 4 naps (0850-920, 1200-1240, 240-315, and 345-520). You had one on one time with Ms. Brittany and worked on "happy" as a sign.

Daycare Notes-Ronan:

1/18/12 Ate cheerios w/milk, chicken bites, peaches, mashed potatoes, corn and milk, and applesauce and vanilla wafers for a snack. Napped from 1230-150. Played outside and made snowballs (!), did zoophonics, wokred on the calendar-Jan. 18.

1/25/12 I had a phone call at about 330 pm from Ms. Nachelle (or Chelle as Ronan says it). She said that Ronan didn't have a fever, but wasn't himself. I asked if he wanted me to pick him up and she said that he was "asking for his mommy". It broke my heart when I got to daycare. He was sitting at the table by himself holding his blankie. When he saw me he quick got up and then burst into tears. My little sweetie! He ended up being fine, but must have had a little stomach virus for a few days. I'll never forget his little forlorn face at the table.

1/27/12 Note from Ms. Becky: Ronan had such a good day and was feeling a lot better. :) He fed the fish and played house outside. He tried on the potty twice.

1/30/12 Note from Ms. Nachelle: Ronan really enjoyed reading 26 letters, 99 cents" today. I went throught the book with him and asked him each letter, and he knew almost all of them! He is so smart! Love Ms. Nachelle

2/6/12 First day in his new room. Tried on the potty once. Must have been tired cause his nap was 1240-245pm. ATe taco wedges and corn. PLayed outside and with the bean table.

2/8/12 Refused the potty 4 times! What a stinker.
