Hurricane Hilda tornado outbreak (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) – (View AfD | edits since nomination)
(Find sources: Google (books Âˇ news Âˇ scholar Âˇ free images Âˇ WP refs) Âˇ FENS Âˇ JSTOR Âˇ TWL)

I propose merging because the main Hurricane Hilda article already covers tornadoes, but due to its short length, it could easily accommodate all of the information in the tables.

I am also nominating the following related articles:

1964 Larose tornado (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views)

I believe that the 1964 Larose tornado could fit into the Hilda article. It's also already mentioned in the main article. Given the limited content, I think the entire Larose tornado sub-section could be merged as well. Since it was the most notable tornado, I think it could retain having its own sub-section, like how it has its own infobox within the Hurricane Hilda tornado outbreak. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 23:17, 6 October 2026 (UTC)reply

Support both merges While the tornado outbreak (especially the F4) was quite impactful, I don't see a reason for two splits when the main Hurricane Hilda article is only 3,000 words. Lightbulb Noob (talk) 23:59, 6 October 2026 (UTC)reply
Hurricane Georges tornado outbreak (edit | talk | history | protect | delete | links | watch | logs | views) – (View AfD | edits since nomination)
(Find sources: Google (books Âˇ news Âˇ scholar Âˇ free images Âˇ WP refs) Âˇ FENS Âˇ JSTOR Âˇ TWL)

I propose merging to Hurricane Georges because there was only one significant tornado, and no fatalities as a result of the tornadoes. There were a few dozen injuries, but given Georges killed over 600 people total, I feel giving the tornado outbreak, which killed zero, its own dedicated article is WP:UNDUE given context. Also, merging the article into the main article's impacts section would likely improve the main article, as for such a significant hurricane, the impacts section is rather lacking, in large part due to the over abundance of sub-articles. IMO there wouldn't even be a need to list out all the tornadoes in the main article, just a sentence each for all the tornadoes that caused injuries. • Support - per nomanators rational.

Doesn't pass WP:NBAND or WP:GNG; only one source meets WP:42, while the rest are trivial mentions, concert announcements, or based on interviews. This includes sources offered by a band member on the talk page. CCM Magazine publishes articles for payment and doesn't appear to publicly disclose which are paid articles. Meadowlark (talk) 00:49, 28 September 2026 (UTC)reply

It appears I got CCM confused with another source (LTTM), and I was wrong about that statement. I've struck it, with apologies. Thanks for pointing that out! Meadowlark (talk) 18:07, 30 September 2026 (UTC)reply
