You made XLibre a "first one on...!", your average person's daily driver or center of ricing and tinkering? Excellent! Please capture it and share your screenshot here. As you are onto it, we kindly ask you to mention what OS and distribution you are on, the desktop environment or window manager, your GPU and type of usage, etc. You may also include the output of fastfetch or one of its siblings in your shot.

wow , you succeed to install xlibre on fedora ? sadly me i did not succeed to this , cause i was on nvidia and the fedora package manager had some restriction, and i did not succed to compiled it from source. did the you use the copr or did you compiled from source ?

I think this is the first screenshot of compiz running on Xlibre! We already use an awesome old windowing system, why not an awesome old window manager?

Of course compiz does not integrate well with KDE plasma, but sometimes fun is more important than productivity 😁
Kubuntu 22.04 with XLibre (master), KDE 5.27 and Compiz 0.9.14, running on Ryzen 7 with AMD graphics (+ dedicated Nvidia via Prime).

XLibre on my decade-old laptop. The last of its kind with DVD drive and detachable battery. That's why I love it so much and will keep it running for as long as I can.

Nvidia Driver 580.142 downloaded from the official website. Had to add ignore ABI mismatch to work, but otherwise flawless. All the software I use daily (Blender, Inkscape, Obsidian, etc...) as well as my vibe coded UI/Applets work.

I finally managed to run XLibre on my NVIDIA GeForce GT 710 with the 470xx proprietary driver, I had to create a config file (/etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/20-nvidia-only.conf) to ensure that the NVIDIA GPU loads first and not the iGPU, and obviously switching to the gremlins repo to download the most recent version of XLibre, it was hard because I had to make soo many attempts but I achieved it.

This issue seems to be common in hybrid NVIDIA GPU/iGPU setups, so it's something that the XLibre maintainers should take into account!

finally i successful to install xlibre on plamo linux (japanese slackware fork) on my new laptop thinkpad x260 maybe it first one on plamo linux

plamo linux maybe it my favorite linux distro that i ever use origin of plamo linux is a linux that install on nec pc-98 a japanese best retro anime pc gaming model so yes i didn't install on nec pc-98 because it too old but i install a successor a plamo linux it hard to install because i download a slackpkg and pkgtools (for only upgradepkg) because in plamo they don't have it by default (but luckily they have installpkg) so after install both package so i install from a slackware guide and successful so that is about today

so if you don't believe me if i not actually install this on plamo linux i have a proof because i remember about last time that install on omarchy and people still not believe it so i don't want that accident that happen again so i screenshot on the xorg version on xfce terminal

Don't like wayland's rdp (non) functionality. Used to using Red Hat and Centos. The latest versions (10) removed x11, also from gnome. Thank you XLibre and Cinnamon!

This is not any liberated screen, that's a Red Hat'ded screen.

The idea of the Liberated Screens is to show something related to XLibre. May it be something special, a daily driver or the result of some tinkering. IMO running a Wayland terminal in Weston on top of XLibre fulfills these criteria.

Some users have been asking whether it would be possible to run Wayland-only applications on XLibre. Using the X11 backend of Weston could be one way. The other one could be 12to11/12to11 - LinuxPingWin git server.

Been using XLibre for a week now, been a nice experience far, had a bit buggier experience than XOrg, but nothing that henders my experience.
using a somewhat broken VistaThemePlasma, nothing in my system works ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

since you are using Plasma an x11, you should check out SonicDE, it is way better than vanilla Plasma for X11, pure plasma on x11 kinda suck/is buggy ,but not sonic de in my experience

since you are using Plasma an x11, you should check out SonicDE, it is way better than vanilla Plasma for X11, pure plasma on x11 kinda suck/is buggy ,but not sonic de in my experience

im waiting for Plasma to kill off X11 and for SonicDE to fully move away from Plasma naming scheme for files so i dont have to migrate over twice, i asked the dev on telegram and they told me it's possible that they will make a migration script possible so i am waiting

We are absolutely thrilled with the large number and variety of Liberated Screens submitted so far! This is a huge success and clearly shows the potential of FOSS and our vibrant community. Although we unfortunately can’t respond to every single screenshot, we appreciate each one for its uniqueness and your contributions as a whole. Thank you very, very much!
