Minisforum MS-R1 arm64 system with CIX SoC, Panthor GPU, CIX custom kernel with patches, XFCE-4 desktop and XLibre on Debian Forky!
This was so easy to install and thank you so much for your work on the new XLibre version of X11, its really appreciated, and it is working very well :-) P.S. compared to the old xorg, my mouse pointer does not constantly flicker with XLibre :-) |

@r1w1s1 Thank you for sharing and thank you very much for r1w1s1/xlibre-SlackBuild: -current xlibre SlackBuild - Slackware Community Forge too! |

@ONykyf This might interest you. π |
@callmetango You mean https://forge.slackware.nl/r1w1s1/xlibre-SlackBuild ? It's a perfect idea! |
|
@ONykyf Yes, that's what I mean and I came to the same conclusion. π Just wanted to let you know. |

cgroups cpusets tuning on big/little (8p cores / 4e cores enabled) 13980hx to get highest % lows, custom toolchain + cgred The smoothest low-latency experience I've had in a while in general. |

Welcome to 2026q2 - SBC with 1GB ram perfectly normal π This one supports OpenGL_ES only and with various hiccups (if you don't run x11 compositor - only one program can generate frames otherwise rendering stuck):
I run on https://github.com/NickAlilovic/build/releases , because original linux from radxa debian was 11.x something. As for Xlibre I used https://github.com/xlibre-deb/debian |
|
I eventually got mine Librated (I won't detail my bodge-job, lol, don't look under the hood and it's all fine), If it's enabled a trans-questioning femboy (hi!) to easily set up an energy efficient, yet rather pretty system, then that's all the proof that it's for anyone and everyone to use and with good merit, also program together ;-) |
|
Is that effect created by Compiz? |
Yep :-) |

Run the scripts to check if your AUR packages are affected. I had xosview from AUR too, but luckily installed it before the attacks. |

Gentoo + Xlibre + VXWM + Compton on a GTX 1080.

I migrated my Framework 13 back to Gentoo, after some time running Arch and then Artix. The desktop is SonicDE, though fastfetch misidentifies it as KDE Plasma. I've also applied WD-40 to the profile to keep Rust away, which was one of the reasons I decided to go back to Gentoo. (The Gentoo binhost also helps.) |
Happy that I switched and learned along the way. XKB is what brought me to Linux and I don't see a reason why I should be forced to change stacks. You give us freedom to choose. Thank you! |

i didnt find a page of your distro, how |

I hate the corporate creep of companies behind systemD and Wayland. Distribution: Devuan (a fork of Debian that's non systemD)
Thanks XLibre for being there. |
Not much else has changed from the last time, besides, I fled to a place where systemd couldn't reach me! A very good thing to say is that FreeBSD has first-class support for XLibre even on NVIDIA GPUs Plasma is about to drop X11 support very soon, hopefully this paves the way for SonicDE to gain more traction. |
|
Yikes, that's truly a shame seeing as X11 is still very critical, and wayland still and probably never will fix many issues with it. Oh well. Thank god we have SonicDE! |
I Decided to revisit this since i now have a Thinkpad T480 to play with (i thought it'd be a good idea to get one so i have some actual computing capabilities on the go)

After almost a year planning to move my Install of Devuan Linux to XLibre, I finally got the chance this week. The result? better than I expected! This is a Lenovo Legion 5 15ACH6 running Devuan 6 Excalibur. I upgraded several things from the base model (Extra RAM, extra SSD and swapped the realtek wifi card for an intel one). I use this laptop for both my development work as well as for my Manga/Comics production. The later is the most important aspect for me as it requires very specific hardware and software support (pen tablet and pen pressure). I use a heavily patched DWM and ST terminal |
