For weeks now, Bold & Beautiful’s Hope has been a mess. Even as she’s made big moves toward empowering herself, she’s spent far too much time worry about what mom Brooke would say about her having jumped ship for Logan. This week, the fish is finally hitting the shan, and it’s about to culminate in a showdown between Hope and her miffed mama.

First things first: Kudos to the writers for having Brooke confront Katie first. We all knew the blonde was going to storm over to Logan in order to berate her daughter for — gasp — acing in her own self-interest. The big question was how in the world they would manage to fill a week’s worth of episodes, especially since Los Angeles is a tiny town, as evidenced every time someone makes the trip from the Malibu beach house to downtown L.A. in the span of a commercial break.

The Katie/Brooke fight was well worth the price of admission. Brooke was her usual over-the-top self, completely unable to for even a nanosecond acknowledge that Hope had done good. And when she broke the TV screen while ranting about how she was going to “rescue her from this place,” it was entertaining as heck, but… dang, lady. Take a chill pill!

Anyway, next up is the moment Hope’s been dreading. And we all know how it’s going to go down, right? Hope will beg with her mom to understand, and we have an office pool speculating how many times Brooke will use the word “betrayed.” What I really wish, however, is that this could be a transformative moment for Hope.

Here’s how I’d love the scene to play out.

BROOKE: How could you betray me like this?

HOPE: You mean like the way you stood by Ridge instead of offering me even a little bit of support?

BROOKE: Katie stole Eric…

HOPE: No, she hired him after he was tossed aside by y’all.

BROOKE: She stole my name…

HOPE: Do you even hear yourself?

More: Soap vet arrested (again)!

BROOKE: And now, she’s stolen you!

HOPE: Again, hired, not stole.

BROOKE: Do you know how disappointed Ridge and Steffy are?

HOPE: Are you for real right now?

BROOKE: You should have tole me! You had every opportunity!

HOPE: You’ve got me there.

BROOKE: I told Katie she could have anyone named Spencer! You’re a Logan!

HOPE: I mean, so are you.

BROOKE: I am a Forrester!

HOPE:  Really? Does Ridge call you “My Forrester”? Oh, right, it’s “My Logan.”

More: Wow! What was Young & Restless thinking?

BROOKE: That’s a technicality! I’m married to a Forrester!

HOPE: You’ve married a few of ’em. But no matter how you slice it, I’m a Logan or a Spencer. Not a Forrester.

BROOKE: I’m so disappointed in you. Betrayed, by you!

HOPE: Back atcha, mom. You could have come here and said that while you disagreed with my actions, you were proud of what I designed. Well, created. Er… inspired? Whatever.

BROOKE: What about Zende, the lead designer at Hope For the Future?

HOPE: Wait, now you wanna mention him? The poor guy has been ignored by all of you for years! But Zende by Forrester has a nice ring to it.

BROOKE: Oh, the betrayal!

HOPE: Blah, blah blah. Tell it to your real family, mom. I’m moving on! Oh, and Katie said she’ll bill you for that TV screen.

I mean, I’d watch the heck out of Hope finally speaking her peace. Wouldn’t you?
