Name:
For being the F-analogue of pedrizite.
Type Locality:
Fluoro-pedrizite was originally described as fluoro-sodic-pedrizite by Oberti et al. 2005 (IMA 2004-002) from the holotype material of clinoholmquistite as EMP and SIMS analysis and structure refinement showed that the sample consisted of a mixture of two distinct amphibole compositions, tremolite and a new amphibole end-member, fluoro-sodic-pedrizite.
