Little Boys Blue

There is no real reason for this post....except I thought my boys looked extra cute. We went to a wedding reception a few nights ago, and I think my guys look so cute all dressed up so I grabbed my camera and snapped a few pics. I realized after how cute it was that they were both dressed in blue. Such handsome little men!!

6 Random things about ME!

I have seen this done on a few random blogs, and I think it looks like fun. So I am going to be a nerd and tag myself for this one. Here are a few, fun facts about little old me.....

1. I love to clean...I am sure most of you are thinking that is crazy, but its true. Nothing in life brings me more satisfaction then a nice, clean, organized house. I am probably a little over the top, obsessive about it (at least that is what I am told) but I just can't help it. We do not leave the house without all the beds made, dishes in the dishwasher, kitchen wiped down from breakfast, garbages emptied, toys picked up....I could go on and on. I am very particular about how I do things, I don't let anyone help me...I am so bad that after I have vacumed, nobody is allowed to go in that room because I don't want my pretty vacume lines messed up. A little crazy? I am the same way with organizing, I like things just so, I have all of our closets color coordinated in winter and summer clothing. I am also a freak about my belongings, every night I do inventory on Carson's toys to make sure nothing is missing. If I discover a piece of something gone, I might as well just throw the whole toy out. It just makes me nuts!!!

2. I LOVE baths!!! Love them, Love them, Love them. They are my sanity and my cure for everything. (Jill and Tanner would agree with me) I shower every morning and take a bath every night. No matter what, even if it is very late and I am so tired, I will still make time for it. I can have the absolute worst day, and they make me feel better. Whether I am sad, mad, scared, whatever a bath is my remedy.

3. I iron everything!!! And I do mean everything my jeans, sweatshirts, undershirts, everything. I even iron Carson's play clothes and his baby clothes when he was tiny. Most the time I am tempted to even iron my sheets. (I don't, but I have considered it many times). I also hang dry all of our clothing...I don't like to put things in the dryer. My legs are so long that my pants always seem to shrink and I just can't have that. I have 3 huge racks in my basement to hang up our family's clothes on and when they are dry I carry them on up. When we first got married, Thiago thought I was insane....but I keep up on his ironing really well, so he has gotten used to my insanity.

4. I have an obsession with celebrity magazines. They are my guilty pleasure......I don't know what my fascination is with celebrities, but I sure do like to read about them. I love US Weekly, People, Ok...any of those will do. I refuse to get a subscription because that would be admitting how pathetic I am . So instead, I buy the newest issue every Monday as I am doing my grocery shopping. Thiago gets so mad, he doesn't care if I read them, he just wants me to get the subscription so it is cheaper. So if any of you out there are wondering who the most recent celeb is to get married, or who is dating who. I am your girl...I know it all!!

5. I tend to be a bit of a hypochondriac. I have been this way my whole life...no matter what the symptoms are, I automatically assume I have a terminal illness. Throughout my life I have been convinced that I am diabetic, have rheumatoid arthritis, a tumor, scolios, you name it and at one point or another I have thought I had it. Of course none of this (besides the scolios) have ever actually been true, but at the time I would have bet my life on it. Carson is very SLOW at gaining weight, he is just a small little guy and I was convinced the reason behind this was Cerebral Palsy, of course this is not the case but boy did I lose sleep over it. I drive my family CRAZY, with all my crazy thoughts, but oh well, what can I do.

6. Last but certainly not least, I LOVE Mexican food!! I could eat it every day of my life and be perfectly happy. Cafe Rio is my absolute favorite, I have eaten there 3 times in the last week and it is starting to sound good right about now. I alternate between the pork salad and cheese enchiladas. I just can't get enough of it. So very good!! Thiago hates asking me where we should go out and eat, cause get what my answer always is?

Well there you go, thats me in a nutshell. I am not going to tag anyone, but if you want to do this go for it.

Best of Buds

We just LOVE our little Hallie-girl!!! She is the worlds cutest, sweetest, funniest, smartest little almost 4-yr old I have ever met. She has the sweetest, little heart and is an absolute joy to be around. She just has one of those personalities that just draws you in, I just can't get enough of her. The poor little thing is the only girl cousin, we have 5 little boys in our family and then our sweet Hallie!! However she is one tough cookie, she holds her own pretty well and as you can see our boys just love her. Carson absolutely adores Hallie, she is so good to him and they are the best of friends. These pictures are of the two of them out on the town today. As you can see Hallie has her little purse, and if she has one then you can bet Carson wants one too. A little disturbing, but being as he is only 2, I guess he can get away with it. We made a big deal of calling Carson's a "bag" rather than a purse. Thiago was none to happy with me for showing these pictures to everyone. I just think they are funny, we will show them to Carson when he is 16 and see what he has to say about it then. Ha-ha!!

CHOP!! CHOP!!

My hair just needed a little pick-me up, so I headed down to Ash's salon for a cut and color. I absolutely love Ash's new salon. It is so very fancy and uppity ( I don't think that is a word, but I use it all the time, so it is to me.) The salon is so beautiful, they have the best of everything. They have about 80 magazines to choose from, special masseuse's whose only job is to wash out your hair. They do a special, little head rub thing which actually kind of creeps me out. Although, alot of people really seem to enjoy that part. They also serve you a drink the minute you get there and keep refilling it constantly. They also bring you out a little plate of food, including frozen grapes. Everytime I go there I eat about 10 cups of those grapes, they are delicious. They have TV's on the ceiling for while you are getting your hair washed and also scented, heated towels. It is divine!! They use the absolute best products and I think my hair smells so dang good after I am done. Of course they charge you an arm and a leg, but since I am her sis...I am free!! I am so very picky with my hair, and Ashley always does such a good job. I sure am glad she is my sister and that she is so good at what she does. Thanks Ash!!

Language Barrier

Funny story....Thiago and I got a good laugh over this, so we though we'd share it. Carson has a 6-yr old friend across the street, they have become little buddies and play outside together everyday. We were outside in our driveway and all the little ones were playing, Thiago walked out of the house and said goodbye to Carson and I. As he was leaving he told Carson he loved him and to be a good boy, however he said this in Portugese. After Thiago left, our little friend looked at me in astonishment and said "Was that Spanish?" I explained that Carson's dad was from a different country that spoke Portugese and he was teaching it to Carson. The little boy accepted this answer and they continued playing. A little while later, Carson said something to me and the little friend just stared at him. He then looked at me and said "You have got to tell him to speak English, I can't understand anything he is saying." Well, Carson is 2 1/2 and although I can understand everything he says, others cannot. I told Xavier that Carson was speaking English, he is just little so you can't understand everything he says. Xavier then said "Well, I can't understand anything he says, the only thing I understand is when he says mommy or no." I just thought this was hilarious. Little kids have the funniest ways of saying things, I love to see how their little minds work.

Boys and their toys..

Ash and Carson jamming

Step back everyone.....we are the proud new owners of GUITAR HERO!!! Thrilling isn't it? Thiago was actually looking to buy the Wii, but we couldn't find one anywhere, so he went for Guitar Hero. I absolutely hate video games, luckily Thiago doesn't play all too often, but every once in awhile he pulls out his X-box and goes at it. I was none to excited about his new purchase, but believe it or not, I think I am more in to it than he is. I am absolutely terrible at it, but it is quite addicting. I pull up our coffee table right in front of the television to sit on, and I give it my best effort, but I still only make it about half way through the easy level songs before I am booed off. I can't feel to bad though cause Carson is even worse than I am. All he likes to do is hold the guitar and after about 10 notes he is outa there. However, every time he is booed off he just laughs and starts over again. Oh fun, fun. Good times at the Cano home.

Out with the old...in with the new!

Well, Thiago finally convinced me to trade in our 04 Trailblazer for a newer version. We have actually had the new one for about a month now, but it has snowed so much that I couldn't keep it clean. So with this break in the weather, we thought we would take a few pictures. Most of the time I forget that it is new, the inside of the car is almost identical to our old one. When I am driving I don't notice anything different, however when I see the pretty white outside....I fall in love with it all over again. I have always been partial to white cars, and our other one was kind of a champagne color. For the first week or so, Carson was absolutely obsessed with the new car. He kept opening our back door and checking the garage to make sure the car was still in there. I'm not exactly sure where he thought it was going to go, but very cute of him to check. Also, everytime we go somewhere he will always ask "Momma, new car?" I say yep and then when we go out to the garage he gets all excited and starts chanting "New car, new car". Guess its a keeper!!

Chicken Taco Soup

I have to share this new recipe I got off KSL. I know my fam loves new recipes, and this one is a keeper. Thiago and I absolutely LOVED it!!! It was kinda spicy for Carson, so maybe tone it down if you've got kids. But definetely give it a try.

2 1/2 cups cooked and cubed chicken
11 oz. mexican corn
2 1/2 can cream of chicken soup
2 cans chicken broth
1/4 envelope taco seasoning
8 oz sour cream
8 oz mexican velveeta cheese

Combine cooked chicken, cream of chicken soup, chicken broth, taco seasoning and corn. Bring to a boil. In a seperate bowl combine velveeta (stick in the microwave for 30 sec or so to soften) and sour cream. Add a little bit of this mixture at a time to boiling soup and stir constantly. Lower heat and stir until cheese mixture is disolved.

Serve with tortilla or corn chips.....Yum, so good.

Forever LOVE

Pretty simple Valentines day for our little family. I work just 2 days a week and unfortunately Valentines fell on one of those days. I took Carson around the day before to deliver Valentines to his little neighborhood friends. Although at one house, he decided he was no longer interested in having to give up his card and treat. He wanted that sucker all to himself!! So there I stood, trying to pry the sucker out of his hand while his poor little friend stood staring at us like we had lost our minds. The mom of the little boy just laughed, but boy did I feel like an idiot. "Here we brought you a valentine, oh wait, he doesn't want to give it up." Gotta love it. Anyways, back to actual Valentines day. After I got off work, I just met up with Thiago and Cars and the Phongsavath family at the Olive Garden. We had a good time, and the best part was we had a gift card so it didn't cost us a dime. After dinner we just came home and gave Carson his valentine from us. It was a little kid mailbox stuffed with treats and a card. He really gets a kick out of putting all the little cards from his friends in and out of the box. All in all it was a great day. I sure am grateful for my little lovebug and my big lovebug. They make me the happiest girl in the world and I don't know what I would do without them!!

Go Wildcats!!!

A little dinner before the game...

Carson and I went with Jill and the kids to a Weber State boys basketball game. The Kofoed's go quite often but this was a first for me and Carson. The kids had so much fun. We got popcorn and drinks and watched the game. Although to be perfectly honest, I can't even tell you whether or not they won. Shocker huh!! When it was over, the little ones ran around the stadium. Up through all the seats and back down again, I think that was their favorite part. Thanks Kofoed's for letting us tag along. We sure do love ya!!!

Husband Tag

Okay, here goes.....

What is his name? Thiago Delaurentis Cano (good luck pronouncing that middle name)

How long have you been married? 5 years in May, where has the time gone.

How long did you date? Well, high school sweethearts, so a long time. Almost 5 years!

How old is he? 25, just 5 months older than me.

Who eats more? Thiago, for sure. Although I eat alot more candy and junk food.

Who said I love you first? I don't even remember. It was in highschool, so I don't think that counts anyways.

Who is taller? Thiago , by just a few inches. None of us are very tall, including Carson who is in the 2% percentile for height and weight. Impressive isn't it.

Who sings better? Definitely me, Thiago would disagree. He hates when I sing, but my Carsy-boy loves it!!!

Who has a worse temper? That would be me...I am very quick to fly off the handle about stuff, Thiago is very calm, and it takes a lot to make him mad.

Who does the laundry? Always me, although our washer/dryer is downstairs, so I make him carry the loads up sometimes.

Who does the dishes? Me again, I'm sure he would help if I asked but I usually just do it myself.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Thiago, we have a continual fight over it, but he is currently winning.

Who mows the lawn? Thiago, I don't even know how to turn the dang thing on.

Who drives when you are together? Thiago, with me yelling at him the whole time to slow down and watch the road.

Who cooks dinner? Me, although in the summer we grill almost every night. And he is in charge of that, he is also great at making breakfast. For some reason I just can't make pancakes.

Who pays the bills? Me, he has no idea what goes on in our account. He makes the money, and I spend it.

Who is more stubborn? Thats a close one, but probably him.

Who is the first to admit when they are wrong? Always me, I hate us to be mad at each other so I always give in whether its my fault or not.

Who has more friends? He does, he is friends with everyone, and I am much more quiet and a keep to myself kinda girl.

Who has more siblings? Same, I have 2 sissies and he has a brother and sister. Guess thats why we want 3 kids.

Who wears the pants in the family? Me, Thiago would never admit that, but its true. I call all the shots in our household.

Well thats that...now I tag Jen, Jill, Natalie and Ashley if she will ever get her blog up. Which means if you are reading this you must do what I just did. But answer for your husbands. Okee-dok!!

Now to finish off this little post about my husband, I would just like to tell him how much I love him. With Valentines in a couple of days, I just wanted him to know what a lucky gal I am to have him for all eternity. He works so hard, and takes such good care of his little family. Carson is the luckiest kid to have such a great dad, I don't think any little boy is more loved. Well thats enough mushy stuff..but honey I sure do love ya!!!

Cruisin tots....

Even the cold weather can't keep my little guy from playing outside. Every chance he gets, he runs out there and we have to drag him back in kicking and screaming. We took advantage of a sunny, but cold day and headed on out. Carson and Brev had so much fun, even the neighbor kids came over and joined us. What a great way to spend the afternoon.

My Little Valentine

Carson loves to help Grandma in the kitchen. Here they are making valentine sugar cookies. Carson made sure that he was in on all the action. He helped with everything, including mixing, rolling, cookie-cutting and of course trying out the finished product.

Papa Deano!!

Carson sure does love his Grandpa! After one of our many winter storms, Grandpa hopped on to his 4-wheeler and cruised around the neighborhood. Carson got lucky enough to go with on a late night ride through the snow. He loved every minute of it.

25 Candles....YIKES!!!

Oh goodness, 25 years old, I'm getting up there! I get a big kick out of my birthday. I like to celebrate the whole month of January. I also demand my family tell me happy birthday every hour. I really enjoy being the center of attention for at least a day. This year I was not disappointed, I played with my mom, Ashley, Jill, Tammy, and the kids all day. We just shopped, ate lunch and hung out that night. We went out to eat at Tepanyaki with my family and the Cano's. Carson really likes to go eat there, especially when they start the big fire at the beginning. After dinner we went to our house and had cake and ice cream, it was a great birthday!!

Uh-Oh Mom!!!

I'm sure you have all experienced this moment. Carson was just a little too quiet, so I went into the kitchen to check it out. This is what I found, powdered sugar everywhere! I knew I should be mad, but he looked so dang cute that I had to grab the camera. Not a whole lot of fun to clean up though....
