NEW • Development Release: vnlinuxCD 9.4 Beta |

A new development version of vnlinuxCD, a Vietnamese live CD based on Mandrakelinux, has been released. Version 9.4 (code name "Nha Trang") uses IceWM as the default window manager for machines with low amounts of RAM. Unionfs and QEMU + KQEMU are also included. By booting with "union=yes", users can store changes and install more software as they see fit before installing vnlinuxCD onto hard disk. | About VNLinux
|
| VNLinux consists of two subprojects - vnlinuxCD and VNLS (VNLinux Secure). vnlinuxCD is a Vietnamese Linux live CD based on Mandriva Linux and designed for desktop use. Its default desktop environment is GNOME and it can be installed on hard disk with a simple installation wizard. VNLS is a server oriented distribution based on EnGarde Secure Linux designed for Vietnamese users.

A new version of vnlinuxCD, a Vietnamese live CD based on Mandrakelinux, has been released. This version includes kernel 2.6, GNOME 2.4 (as the default desktop environment), OpenOffice.org 1.1 office suite (with AbiWord and Gnumeric also present), pre-configured multimedia plugins, and the graphical user interface in Vietnamese. Although vnlinuxCD is designed to be a live CD, it can be installed on one's hard disk with the help of a simple 6-step wizard. SalentOS
SalentOS was a Debian-based GNU/Linux distribution that uses Openbox as window manager. SalentOS has been designed to embrace lightness (hence the choice of Openbox), but at the same time it maintains the completeness and features of Debian. The system includes elements of GNOME and Xfce desktops.
