Sylvain Balbous has announced the release of PapugLinux 11.1, a minimalist, Gentoo-based live CD featuring the Fluxbox window manager, some development tools and several version control system programs: "PapugLinux 11.1 is available for download, this is a major release in term of package updates. We choose to focus our additions on development tools for this version. The great Python language comes in 2 versions (2.7 and 3.1) and we also include Subversion and the very popular Git as version control systems. This could make PapugLinux a great bundle to start to learn Python or simply browse the open-source projects all over the world. The live running mode uses new tools and another compression format, this results in more content in a smaller size." Here is the brief release announcement. Sylvain Balbous has announced the release of PapugLinux 10.1, a minimalist, Gentoo-based live CD with the Fluxbox window manager and a number of mostly lightweight desktop applications: "PapugLinux release 10.1 is now available for download. Version 10.1 is a major release of PapugLinux in terms of package update and hardware support. The latest version of X server will allow you to enjoy PapugLinux at the best capacity of your hardware. Updated packages - X.Org 7.4 X Window server, Firefox 3.5.6 browser, Sylpheed 2.6.0 mail client, Pidgin 2.6.3 instant messenger client, AbiWord 2.6.4 word processor, Gnumeric 1.8.4 spreadsheet processor. Sylvain Balbous has announced the release of PapugLinux 09.1, a minimalist Gentoo-based desktop live CD with Fluxbox as the default window manager: "PapugLinux 09.1 is finally available for download. As more than a year elapsed since the previous release, most of the packages have major updates. We focused our work on a better integration with Rox file manager by providing Rox-project tools for an improved user experience. MPlayer is now integrated to give multimedia support a better flavor, it was optimized for Intel platform and may fail on some AMD computers. No worry, Audacious and Ogle are still there to do the job! And for those who want to work with PapugLinux, Gnumeric is now included to allow spreadsheet manipulation. EcoOS
EcoOS is an Arch-based Linux distribution featuring a highly customised Xfce desktop with an ability to arrange open windows in a tiling layout.
